Probably already been asked before, but I'm wondering about attacks made by Bullseye (WOS) VS Spider-Man (WOS). Spider-Man's trait allows him to use a modified version of Super-Senses, but Bullseye's trait DOESNT allow targeted characters to use Super Senses, so his trait essentially counters the trait of Spider-Man (just for the one attack), correct?

Counter is a specific game term with a specific meaning. Bullseye ignores Spider-Man's super senses from the trait, but he doesn't counter it. So, Spider-Man cannot use super-senses on that attack. Countering it would mean that the super-senses would actually be gone. In this case, it's still there, but can't be used against that attack.

Bullseye's Trait
I never miss: Characters targeted by Bullseye can't use Shape Change or Super Senses.
no countering is involved
Spider-man simply cannot use Super Senses against Bullseye's attack, even if it is 50% better than vanilla Super Senses
Right. That's what I'm saying. If he can't use it, it's essentially being countered, even if it doesn't use that word, explicitly. Whicever way you look at it, Bullseye gets the upper hand.

There's no such thing as "essentially being countered". A power is either countered or not.
It does make a difference when it comes to things like Power Cosmic/Quintessence
Quote
POWER COSMIC™ Characters using the Power Cosmic team ability do not take pushing
damage and their powers cannot be countered. This team ability can’t be used by wild cards
If Bullseye attacks Stardust, Stardust does not get to use Super Senses. This is because there is no countering involved, Super Senses simply cannot be used.

Yes and no.
In English, yes the power is countered. In Game Terms, no it is not. Since this is a game term no Bullseye doesn't counter it, he ignores it.
It may seem like a silly thing that people are saying no it is not countered, even though it basically is, but it does matter. Say you are playing golden and there is a feat that needs you to have Super Senses or Shape Change to use. If your power is COUNTERED then you cannot use the feat. Since the power is only ignored, you still have access to the feat. It is important to use the correct terminology, even when it doesn't seem like it :>
Sigh... I wish I had something clever or witty to put here...

Completely understand and agree. I don't disagree with anyone's response, here, either, in case they think I do. I never said the powers are countered. My whole question was about the effects of the trait(s) and we all agree on the effect.

What you sad was that they were essentially countered.
They aren't. They're not even close to being countered.
It would be like saying that pinging Galactus for 1 damage essentially KOs him.

Sheesh. Now that's just crazy talk. Not even close to an accurate analogy. More accurate would be like saying that a football game is "essentially over" when one team has the ball on first down, a lead of 9 points, and less than a minute left on the clock.

He doesn't ignore it either : his target cannot use it.
Yeah, I realized that after I made my post. I was going from memory, since the OP didn't quote the power, and I thought I remembered it. On a related note, we really should have a sticky in the rules forum saying "When asking a rules question, please QUOTE the mechanic in question."
