Can you draw a line of fire between two friendly characters that are diagonally adjacent to each other?

For example:


[x][b][x][x][x]
[x][x][x][x][x]
[x][x][x][x][L]
[x][x][L][H][A]

x = clear terrain
B = Target
L/H = Allied units
A = Attacker/Target/Source

Can A draw a LoF to B? Assuming that they are all on clear terrain.

Example: The L's and A's have the Police team ability and H is shooting B. Would B get -2 for the two L's? Or -3 for all three?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that LoF through diagonals takes the path of least resistance, which be blocked for either square (sans sharpshooter), but I couldn't find where I had read that.

LINE OF FIRE ACROSS
INTERSECTION POINTS
Whenever a character’s line of fire crosses exactly
through an intersection point, treat the point as the less
restrictive of the two squares that touch that point but
are not otherwise in the line of fire.

In your example both are equally restrictive, A can't draw a line of fire to B.

Thanks! I thought as much. So that would mean that the most you can ever get from the Police TA would be a -2 to defense? I can't see any scenarios where you could be adjacent to three characters that can all draw line of fire to the target (again, sans sharpshooter).

Sharpshooter does not let you shoot through your own guys.

An easy way is with giants and colossals.

Dr. Manhattan behind 8 Gotham City Detectives would be nice.

If the target were on elevated terrain, or had the Great Size ability are two examples where it would be possible.

Ah, yup. I just re-read it. Opposing characters only. My fault! I guess Secret Invasion Dr. Strange could do it as well with the Eye of Agamatto trait.

One more possibility is if your attacker is a multi-base figure. That makes it easier to get 3 guys adjacent that also have line of fire to the target.

G being opponent's DC 75th's Green Arrow who has Sharpshooter

No. Sharpshooter means that Green Arrow can make a ranged attack against adjacent enemies, but he still needs LOF to make the attack. It doesn't allow you to make attacks contingent upon adjacency (wow, that's actually a hard concept to express in English, stupid ambiguous language). The LOF will be blocked at the intersection of the blocking and the easy company soldier, so Green Arrow cannot make the shot.

Actually yes he can, Sharpshooter allows you to ignore opponents figures for LoF. Easy Co. Soldier would normally block LoF but since he has sharpshooter he can make the attack.
