Am I correct in thinking that poison only effect opposing adjacent figs and not friendlies?

Having just read the PAC and answering that question, it brought up a new one:

Does toughness/invuln counter the damage of poison? Can you roll for super senses/impervious when receiving poison damage? Skrull team ability?

Here's the PAC rule, it does mention target, but it also say each and doesn't require a role:
POISON. This character has a poison or toxin that damages his target. (Optional) At the beginning of your turn, this character delivers 1 click of damage to each opposing character in an adjacent square.

Toughenss/Invulnerability will protect against Poison.
Since Poison is not considered an attack, Super Senses and Impervious will have no effect (no rolling). Skrull team abilty will not work either (no roll).
