Say I have GSX Cable and WoS Deadpool on the same team. If I assign the GSX Cable LE the New Mutants Additional Team Ability, and Deadpool wildcards the Additional Team Ability via the Spider-Man ally Team Ability, can Cable transfers the damage to Deadpool from an attack:
Quote
New Mutants: Whenever a character using this team ability would be dealt damage, you may give an action token to an adjacent friendly character using this team ability. If you do, deal all of the damage to that character instead.
Would it trigger his Ridiculous Regeneration?
Quote
RIDICULOUS REGENERATION: Whenever Deadpool would be dealt damage from an attack, roll a d6 instead. On a result of 1, he takes that damage plus 1. On a result of a 2-3 he takes the normal amount of damage. On a result of a 4-5 he takes 1 damage. On a result of a 6, he heals 1 damage instead.
In other words: Is damage dealt by the attack or is it dealt by the Team Ability?
At the moment, nothing in the description of New Mutants states that damage transferred from an attack becomes "not an attack", like Mastermind. So if Cable is damage by an attack, and then transfers it Deadpool, it is still an attack and will activate 'poolman's trait.
I say "at the moment" because we've had questions about similar sitauations before and it seems like that might change... but for now, it is what it is (and it might stay that way... who knows?).
looks like you found a slightly "broken" loophole then~!
I guess I don't really see it as that case... sure Deadpool might heal or take 1 instead, but he is just as like to take the regular damage or an extra +1. And that's not counting the token, either.
Where this is really dangerous is having Bag-Man copy the ATA. But even then it isn't so bad since Bag-Man's dial is so short (and it is hard to heal that dial) and, again, the action token.
