600 point Dormammu vs. 600 point Galactus: Who would win?
I'd have to say, it'd be pretty close, but I'd say Dormammu 7/10 times; His first click is insane, not to mention the fact he has perma-Prob. Would do you think?
"Our mother has been absent ever since we founded Rome; but there's gonna be a party when the wolf comes home."
I think just because of the herald trait Galactus has the edge, he also has multiattack where as Dormy does not. Dormy can also be outwitted so if galactus picks a herald with outwit hes gonna go down pretty quick

MY HERALD:#As you reveal your force, you may also reveal another figure of 150 points or less to become your Herald. Then each opponent may choose a character on their force to offer up as Herald. You may then either accept an opponent's Herald, or choose your own revealed one. The chosen Herald is added to your force. Your chosen Herald possesses the Power Cosmic team ability, the Flight symbol, and modifies their combat values by +1. In addition, they can use a standard power as listed on the Herald dial. At the end of your turn, you may freely turn the Herald dial to any slot. (It can't be turned any other way.) When Galactus begins the 600 point dial you may return your Herald to your starting area on click #1.
Can Galactus choose a different Herald to be revealed at every match?

Dormammu at 250 with a Gauntlet can beat Galactus at 300.
At 600 Galactus wins no contest. If Dormammu wins this more than 1/10 I'm surprised.
Let's just start with that opening Salvo... with his RS Dormammu has an effective range of 15, Galactus' is 24 or 18 if he uses Pulsewave. So first attack goes to Galactus. He has above a 50-50 of hitting with his first attack, and it will most likely be a single target PW, which means Dormammu is taking 5, and no Mystics retaliation. At this point Dormy has a 10 attack with a 30% chance even with Prob. Even if Galactus uses his 12 range (no prob) Galactus has a 39% chance of of Dormy dropping to an 11 attack, and needing to simply move into Galactus' range. So the first shot is Galactus', almost guaranteed.
But it gets worse because Galactus has Multi-attack. Let's say Dormy does hit first, now Galactus has an 11 attack, 6 damage, and perplex. So he gets 2 shots on Dormy for every one Dormy gets. And even one hit puts dormy in a bad position./Even so, with his Prob I'm willing to say Galactus could have terrible dice rolls and Dormy could pull it out, BUT you have a Herald.
Even if it's a weaker Herald that will cause problems for Dormammu. I mean I don't care if you take Wolverine as your Herald either Dormy needs to waste attacks dispatching him, and hoping Wolvie and galactus miss, but there's a chance that the Herald gets multiple attacks per turn, and with Dormy as soft as he is defensively I think a strong Herald like Namor could probably take down Dormy himself.
aqhoffman- greatest post possibly ever
jtallday- Jon I wouldn't challenge you if I wasn't sure you are wrong cuz I don't have that kind of energy.

By definition he almost has to be able to, as each game an opponent might offer him one. However I wouldn't be surprised to see this be ruled like the Gauntlet where the Herald you bring has to remain the same throughout the tourney.

My understanding is this is still up for discussion. Based on wording on power, you would think he can. Based on the fact that army sheets are filled out before tournament and feats cannot be reassigned after sheets are filled out, he cannot.

His Herald power is no different than Dr. Strange's
ASTRAL FORM: Give Dr. Strange a power action. Place a GG #014a or GG #014b Astral Dr. Strange from outside of the game in an adjacent square.
A player can generate an infinite number of Astral Stranges that are not apart of his build total and anything not apart of the build total doesn't need to be written down on the army sheets.

That is to logical to be final ruling
Just kidding, that is how it should end up.
I just thought of a question ... How will this work in sealed? (dr. Strange and Galactus) I guess it will work like AEs where you have to pull the counter-part.
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.

I really am not sure which way his Herald power is suppose to go. The argument goes that the Herald is being assigned to Galactus, so just like feat cards which are assigned, the Herald cannot be switched during the tournament. Astral Strange is not assigned to a character on your team.

Good question regarding Strange. I have seen folks say logically you can use Astral with out Doc, that is why he has a point value. Put, I can see where WK would give Astral a point value so your opponent could get points for koing Astral.

Galactus would win at 300 and 600. 600 is a no-brainer due to multiattack, herald, etc etc. At 300 its slightly more of a tossup where Dormammu would get the first shot with a 66% chance to hit using his prob. If he fails, 34% of the time, its pretty much gg. If he does hit, which is most of the time, next turn big G responds by psychic blasting right back with a 12 attack 5 damage, having to hit a 6 twice, which is a 52% chance. If that attack lands Dormammu lands on a 9 attack 3 dmg with super senses, ripe to be finished off. Yes Dormammu could hit senses with the time gem and/or rolls could go his way, but I think Galactus has the distinct advantage even at the 300 level.
