so if im playing a 700 point game, and playing galactus at his 600 point value so i get to use his herald dial, how does the herald work. essentially what im asking is does the herald count towards my point total for the game itself, would i have to choose a herald at 100 points or less?

The Herald does not count against your point total, it is in addition to the 700 point force.

Because I am a hue idiot and i have been looking at about 10 different threads that have devolved into number crunching with no Mods to chime in. Your statement leaves me a bit closer without fully knowing.

So in the end, the opponent would still be down 76pts?

Like I said, I'm really dumb...I am having the hardest time wrapping my head around this rule clearly...

I am assuming that since the other player has a pre-made force for 600 (or whatever points cost), then the Herald is taken into account with the Galactus cost of 600(+)pts.?
My issue comes from the "fairness" of this rule. It just seems, unbalanced, but I know I'm wrong somehow...

I'm not really wrapping my head around your question. If you pick a 76 point herald with 600 point Galactus, and your opponent KOs both of them, he will have 676 points.

My opponent is playing with 600pts. and I use Galactus at 600pts. along with a 76pts herald. Do I have 76pts of extra playability? Do I in essence have an over build of XXXpts. more than the other player?

Galactus allows you to play an extra character of up to 150 points in addition to your force. So your opponent might get up to 750 points from you, while you can at most get 600 points from a non-Galactus player.
I'm not going into the issue of playability though.
