Speaking of which, splitting up MC & Arbiter is going to be awesome:

I've given a bit of thought to this, mostly fixating on my favorites. Here are my thoughts so far:
Marvel
Giant-Size X-Men
055 Cable / Deadpool - REALLY made this team-up more fun (and playable). You'll probably have to start solo and Duo up on turn 1, but Phasing in for a Duo attack, then splitting for 2 Stealthed attackers would work really well. Keep in mind where Cable's unleashed clicks are and split into them when you're able.
056 Colossus / Wolverine - I love the potential here. It might be hard to keep certain Wolverines alive, but Colossus now has a quick heal option for after he takes a beating. Remaining as the Duo will most often be your best bet, but there's something to be said for either strategy.
057 Cyclops / Phoenix - You'd be compromising your GSX Cyclops' trait, so I don't see much benefit to this one. Prove me wrong.
058 Gambit / Rogue - As long as Rogue doesn't drop Gambit and lose the Duo ability, this should make a nice combo platter. Actually, if you've got a Gambit (and Rogue) limping by, this could be a nice alternative to get some extra mileage out of them. I used the Duo as it was; I expect this particular Duo will see a lot of split/merge playtime from me.

Web of Spider-Man
059 Iron Man/War Machine - Probably the most potent. Start as two run-n'-gunners, meet up in the middle (ideally with one wounded), heal up from the Duo merge, and drop your 4 attacks in one turn. Conceptually and mechanically awesome.

Secret Invasion
039 Cloak and Dagger - I was always torn on the Duo or the individuals, and now I don't have to choose! I like the idea of starting with a Phasing Cloak dealing some Poison as Dagger hits some running shot psychic blast. Then he can fall back to her, pick up Stealth, and Duo up.

053 Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy - These new Batman sets better give us some great Harley and Ivy options! I want to use this Duo bad!

Ironman/war machine - somehwat limited on the war machine part but a lot more options for iron man with the new avm set

I've tried it out in a home game with Luke Cage/Iron Fist and Cloak/Dagger. The former really didn't have a point. I started with all the single versions, and duo'd up to break some walls. After that, I split pretty quick, and neither did much. The latter, however, was pretty good. Cloak was able to get out there and Poison, putting himself at risk. Then he slipped back to Dagger, they duo'd up to heal, and Cloak/Dagger duo did some good damage following that.
