Can a judge give me a rundown of when you can declare and change a wildcard figure? Some examples I'd want clarification on would be at the beginning of a game before your turn, druring your opponent's turn, after an opponent declares an attack, during an attack, and so on.
My assumption is that you can't change a wildcard an time during an action. Nothing else is really said about when you can change a wildcard around.
Although my Judge status is still pending thanks to paperwork, I'm pretty sure I can answer this questions. A wildcard can change its team affiliation whenever it wants. It works almost like an Instant in Magic. For example, you are using a Doombot to share a defence with Dr. Strange thanks to the Defenders team ability. Someone tries to target your Doombot with a range attack. You decide to change doombot's team to share Robin's Batman team to be stealthed. He can no longer target the doombot and can shoot someone else. Later in that same turn, he decides to target the doombot in a close combat attack. You can then switch back to defenders to share Dr. Strange's defence again.
That is correct you can change them with every ability on the field at any time. But he must declare he is doing it, for example like the one above, you target a spiral with range, she declares the batman team abitility from the rk batman in play. Then on you second action taret her with melee, she declares that she is using the defenders team ability next to Dr. Strange. She can not assume that you know what abilities they are using. Therefore if you target her but she says nothing after you roll, then the batman ability does not affect this action and the attack, if sucessful, get through.
The only restriction is that a wildcard can only use one team ability at a time. Now, what is meant by "at a time" is the debated. Does it mean, per action, per turn or what? I take it to mean per action. For instance, you can't use both the S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra abilities on one figure's attack, but could use them on two different attack on your turn.
On an unrelate note, I played a tourney where the judge insisted that objects be placed on the board face down until you got next to them. They got this from the object section that says to put them face down for picking. If they wanted them to remain hidden they would have had further explanation on when and how they were revealed; there is no explanation.
Yep you've pretty much got wildcards down. Pretty much one per action.

I sympathize. Yes... three tokens from each player are to be placed face down in a pile. Player 1 will choose one randomly and then place it face up in the desired square... players alternate choosing until all the tokens have been chosen.
I'm not sure "one per action" is appropriate for the wildcard teams. In the case of someone with a Defenders and Fantastic Four teammate can first use the Defenders ability at the beginning of the attack and then switch over to Fantastic Four provided it's before the damage is taken.
I go with 'at any point in time the wildcard can only be on one team'. In the case of Hydra and Shield, the wildcard must be only one of them during the attack. If there was some team ability that said "take a click of healing for every click of damage you do" then they could probably then switch over to that after the attack is successful but before damage is taken (just like the FF example).

What a pain, every time your wildcard figure gets attacked you have to declare the FF team or you can't use it. Makes me almost want to stop using Spiral and Invis Girl.
so, you cannot use, say in DC, use JSA at the beginning of my opponent's attack for higher defense, then declare i m using Titans before damage is dealt? i d have to pick my poison before the dice is rolled since damage is part of the entire attack resolution? declare attack, roll dice, powers kick in, damage is resolved, then i can change team abilites? thanks! (why dc? i only play dc that s why!)

The biggest drawback I have seen with wildcards is Superman Enemy.
On your turn, you outwit (superman enemy) say, running shot on an opposing figure. Your opponent tries to take a shot with another fig at your wildcard(s), and you declare Batman Ally. You lose the outwit immediately and running shot is back on!
That's why I took intergan out of my minions of doom team.
