If a character with a range is two squares away from a giant can they make a ranged attack and vice versa?

If a character with a range and is a sharp shooter is two squares away from a giant can they make a ranged attack against an additional character?

2) Yes.

3) Yes, assuming they are not based by another character.

As long as the figures are not adjacent either can make ranged attacks. I'm not really understanding what you're asking (or why), especially the last one.

Maybe he's confusing a giant being able to close combat attack from two squares away with adjacency?
