flyingicarus and I are having a quick one-off Christmas themed game in observance of the holiday spirit. We'll use the Santa's Workshop map:

And our teams will all have something to do (however loosely interpreted) with Christmas. For my team, I had an inspiration and based them on the reindeer:

"I do not understand this," Spiral said.

"It's Christmas," the Flash explained. "We celebrate the holiday by giving gifts and wishing for peace on earth."

"Wishing for peace and yet we are here to fight? You Terrans are full of contradictions," Air-Walker observed.

"It is all in the spirit of fun, though," Starfox pointed out. "A charity to raise money for children to get presents whose families would not otherwise be able to afford it."

"Aye, and though nominally a Christian holiday, the Norsemen did observe Yuletide which hast come to be identified with it," Thor informed him. "And e'en so, the cause it good."

"You can say that again, Thor," Vixen smiled.

"So let's go win one for those kids," Captain Comet said.

"And uh, incidentally Thor," Black Lightning asked, "how is it that you can be on our team and theirs?"

"Why 'tis nought but a bit of Christmas magic," Thor winked conspiratorially.

My group is nowhere near as creative.

"Some would call that fortune, old friend," says Thor.

"It's all for good," notes Captain America.

Silver Surfer looks up to Thor and down to Squirrel Girl. "And I thought the Defenders were an odd mix."

"Odd. I've single handedly beaten Thanos. Can you say that? I didn't think so," Squirrel Girl says.

"I love the monkey," Halo says. She adds, "He reminds me of Christmas."

Nightcrawler scratches his head at that one. "I'm glad to be doing this."

"Me too," Archangel adds, "And it's nice to do it with fellow X-Men. Too bad Iceman wasn't invited. Instead we get Iceberg over there...".

"It's Icicle, man," Icicle says.

"And are you at a charity event, Icicle? Planning on stealing from Cindy Lou Who?" Booster Gold asks.

"Hardy har har. It's called community service," Icicle says, "Look it out and shaddup."

I say let's just keep this simple. No feats, just figures.

Golly, Avengers Prime really is a scary figure.

Squirrel Girl needs to take an action to detatch Monkey Joe, by the way. Monkey Joe could presumably move immediately, so if you want to keep the arrangement as is, you can say Squirrel Girl moved before Nightcrawler carried her to release Joe, and then Joe followed them, but then both SG and MJ would need tokens.

"Guten tag, Mr. Flash and Frohes Fest!" says Nightcrawler surprising Flash with a sudden hit. He disappears before Flash can respond.

Air-Walker HSS to E7, attacks Nightcrawler. Shape CHange is 6. Okay then. Continues to D8 to attack the Surfer instead. AV11 on DV17 +1. Gets 8. 1 to him after Toughness. Air-Walker ends in G4

Captain Comet HSS to E7, attacks Kurt. Shape Change is 2. AV9 on DV19. Rolls the 10. SS is 2. Wow. Didn't expect that to actually work. That's 3 to Kurt, then KB to G9 where he takes 1 more for hitting the wall. He ends F4.

FLash to G8 for the follow up attack. AV11 on DV17. Gets 10. SS is 1. That's 3 more, and sad to say, a KO for Nightcrawler. Flash ends in F5

Black Lightning blasts the wall in G/H10

Thor RS to M5, attacks the Surfer, AV11 on DV18 +1. Gets 4.

Even as Flash was recovering from Nightcrawler's tag, Air-Walker and Captain Comet were after the X-Man. Kurt evaded the Air-Walker, but Captain Comet managed to knock him off guard. That was all the time that the Flash needed to get himself together and follow up himself.

"And a very Merry Christmas to you," Flash replied, tapping the buzzer that they all wore that eliminated the opposing player. "Go start the cider mulling. The rest of us will be there soon, I'm sure."

"Ach! I never expected to be tagged out so soon! I barely got to have any fun at all. Ah well, mulled cider it is! But hurry or all the doughnuts will be gone!"

I suspected getting too aggressive might cost me. Just hadn't expected it in one turn.

The Surfer I picked is actually GG209. Your hit is still valid. In fact, it's worse for me right now as this one is missing move and attack and higher damage.

Angel carries Icicle to E14, he's E15 trying to hit Eros. Needs 6, rolls 4.

Booster carries Halo to C18, he's D17.

Prime rs to D13, 14 attacking Eros. Needs 4 + 1, rolls 9. 4 to Eros. Too bad I can't use the duo attack. Maybe next time I can use them.

Now Surfer can try his luck on Starfox. Needs 6 + 1, rolls 7. SS is 1, 1 to him.
