This happened in my game last night and it just doesn't seem right...
First, my opponent uses HSS and attacks fig A at range
The only LOF space available to fig A was occupied by another figure of mine.
So, can he make the attack? Was an occupied square legal to shoot from?
Also, when he rolled to attack, I used prob control since I had LOF to my 'fig that he was standing on'.
I didn't think he could shoot, he didn't think I should use prob control so we called it even but I'd really like to get clarification here.
But, that flub aside, it was a really fun game and that's the point, right?
HSS follows all the regular rules regarding making attacks and using PC. You cannot make an attack with HSS from a square you could not legally occupy.
They groaned, they stirred, they all uprose, Nor spake, nor moved their eyes; It had been strange, even in a dream, To have seen those dead men rise.
This line is from the Hypersonic Speed power description on the PAC:
"This character must be in a square where it could legally end its move in order to make the attack."
Since you can't have two figures in the same square, an occupied square isn't a legal square to end movement. So it's not a legal square to make the attack from either.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.
