We have this discussion at our shop alot. We need a final ruling on it. Can you mind control a team base and remove a figure? Does the figure go into solo mode and is a permantly on your team? We really need a definite answer here.

You cannot use Mind Control to use Solo Adventure. How this will be worked into the official rules is being discussed as we speak.

Having watch the discussions on other threads I figured I would add my incredibly naive two cents..
I think the problem I see with mind control and team bases goes back to the ruling on mind control and other removable figures. (ie Falcon..) I still don't understand why it was ruled that when I remove a character with mind control it remains in my control.. As an outsider I would see the removal and see that the action of the mind controled is over, and as such it should go back to the original owner after spin off. If this was the case I don't see why it would be a problem to expand that ruling to team bases and switch clicks. If the switch click is present on the original owners side line the MCed team base should be able to solo adventure but as soon as its detached the action is completed. Now why would one want to MC someone just to detach a part of its self? I think it can be a valid strategy to help slow the play down. Not stalling, just valid use of powers to slow the opponent for any number of reasons.. With team bases it can be even more valuable. Take for example the JLA team base. MC It at six hundred use working together to make a few attacks on their friendlies, then solo adventure Aquaman, and then move the team base to a place where the Mind Controlers other team members can attack, and with Aquaman off the base they can now outwit the defensive and other powers on the base. Plus if they want to regain the ability to ignore shape change, and make their attack unavoidable they have to go back and get Aquaman, thus wasting an action. Keep doing that with a well guarded MCer and it could help level the playing field. I think an Omen/Bunker combo could be really nasty to team bases this way. Anyway, that is my two cents.
