Let's say my Super skrull was in base contact to an opposing Firelord. I declare a running shot so I have to roll a break away first. What if I fail the breakaway roll...do i still get to shoot firelord as part of my running shot (even if I don't move)? Or do I have to settle with the failed breakaway and put a token on skrull?

A failed break-away roll ends your action, so you would have to put a token on the Skrull and move on to another action.
