Okay, so I'm playing a game, and I remember reading that I can only use TK on friendly figs if they're adjacent to the TK posessing character. I've checked and rechecked the rulebook, checked and rechecked both the Marvel and DC faqs, and I see nothing saying I can't TK my friendly fig that's in range. Anyone know about this stuff? As far as I know, I don't need to roll a combat roll or anything to move objects or friendly figs...so do they HAVE to be adjacent? The fate of the Justice League depends on the answer!!!!
TELEKINESIS This character can use a close combat attack to move another figure or object. The object can be used as a weapon.(Optional)
Give this character a close combat action. The attack does no damage. If the attack is successful ,move the target fi gure up to 10 squares in anydi rection, ignoring hindering terrain and figure bases. This character must have a clear line of fire to the destination square. This character may also move adjacent friendly figures and objects in squares adjacent to him or her (without making an attack roll). The target figure or object may not be placed in blocking terrain. This character may use Telekinesis in order to use an object as a weapon (see the Objects section of the rulebook).
Do you have to be adjacent to opposing figures in order to move them with TK?

If you have to use a close combat attack then yes you have to be adjacent.
This proved very frustrating to me on the weekend, when i was using my U Phoenix, and wanted to TK a heavy object at my opponent... I had it all planned out, and was then informed I had to be adjacent to whatever I was TKing.
It does not really make sense, if Phoenix can TK items and send them 10 squares away, why does she have to be adjacent to them?
I guess it is a game balancing thing... if it weren't the case characters with TK could just stay back and be VERY lethal.

Yeah, I got it. Though, that's kinda ####py, isn't it? What good is TK if you have to be adjacent to the thing? I think there should be a special exception for getting friendly figs out of bad situations. There'd have to be a roll to make, like a 5 or a 6, and if it's successful, you can move your guy. Anyone with me? C'mon! Ah, well. Back to work.
I sorta agree with ya. I mean, you can mind control someone from a distance, so why not have it where you can TK someone from a distance. I was hoping I could TK someone towards my sentinel and home base without actually being next to them. Oh well. Rules are rules. I guess TK isn't too bad though. I mean you can still TK a friendly to an opponent, then attack with them. Like TKing nightcrawler to someone, then give them a HSS beat down.
for tK, i think a balancing thing owuld be that you can target any object in a 10 square range, and move that object anywhwere within your 10 square circle. I like that a lot more and adds some usefullness
