Let me apologize ahead of time for my derpness on all of what Im about to ask. It might get confusing...
Ok.. So Ive only ever skimmed over Team Base rules. Thought I had this down. However, Ive only faced one TB before, and the game wasnt long enough for me to really see how they work. But last night I tried out my Imperial Guard base. I honestly thought that the only time you get to use Working Together was when the appeared on the Asset Dial..
The game was a huge free-for-all on 2 big arena maps. My first turn was a pass/Asset roll. My 2nd turn was a normal Running Shot/Double-target. After that was done and my turn was over, everyone was asking me why I didnt use WT. I explained to them my assumption about the Asset Dial. They said no...WT is a constant.
So its really granted by the symbol on the Base itself...not the dial?
By turn 3...I was ready to use it... but was confused as to how much I was allowed to actually do.
I had the Team at the full 500. So Im allowed 5 free actions. Just looking for a rundown of different options here...so Im clear on things.
Imperial Guard starts with (12m)R/S and PW. My asset dial at the time had Starbolt, who grants EE with 3 Targets.
So I can R/S, EE. And then what? Do a normal ranged combat attack(stats only),then a move action, then thats it? (assuming I dont base someone and use a close combat action)
Im not clear if that use of EE was still considered to be within the 1 Power Action thats allowed...or if Im able to use it again as a the 1 Ranged Combat Action thats allowed.
Either way...the other players kept telling me I could keep going...but most of that game I never used a full-potential Working Together. It felt wrong. Honestly, it just seemed like it was too much.
I'm not going to get into how Working Together works, but you basically could, in a 500 point game:
RS/EE
Stand there and take a blast without any powers
Move somewhere else, base a figure
Punch with a power
Then just punch again without any powers
Yep, "too much".
See..I think youre only allowed one "vanilla" Ranged OR Close combat attack
But yes...unless youre playing a huge free-for-all game like that, and you end up surrounded, it is too much. So im sort of glad I got to use this redonkulous powerhouse on multiple players...instead of 1 on 1. Makes me less guilty.. lol
See..I think youre only allowed one "vanilla" Ranged OR Close combat attack

WORKING TOGETHER
Give this character a power action and it may be given one action as a free action for every 100 points or fraction thereof of its point value. These free actions may be used for any action, but you may only give the character up to 1 move action, up to 1 power action, up to 1 close combat action, and up to 1 ranged combat action. Any number of these free actions may be used to make either a close or ranged combat attack.
