Day 28: Early morning, an alternate Earth, in an alternate reality, near a replicated Paragon City.

She was the Phoenix Force and she had adopted the image of the mutant known as Jean Grey.

But this Phoenix Force had not been corrupted by the mechanations of Jason Wyngarde, alias Mastermind. Her motives were still pure and true.

So it was with tremendous dismay that on her arrival; she sensed an evil doppleganger of herself wreaking havoc a galaxy away.

This Phoenix force was burdoned with Jean Grey's conscience. Jean Grey could not stand to have herself for so much death and destruction as the other Phoenix force was responsible for.

She had no choice but to set out to stop her dreadful counterpart from continuing her rampage of destruction.

The Light Phoenix set out to stop the Dark Phoenix.

Mystique learned a lot masquerading as a Shield agent.

The most important thing she learned was that Destiny; (her Destiny!) lived and was part of Magneto's entourage. That was all Mystique needed to know.

She decided to leave Crystal to fend for herself. The little fool would wake soon enough. Who cared about her problems? Mystique certainly didn't.

Mystique stole a Shield flivver and set out to meet Magneto.

Crystal woke up alone in the unfamiliar apartment. She called out for Medusa. Crystal received no answer.

Confused and feeling abandoned, Crystal got out of bed and searched the apartment. She still felt groggy and confused from the drugs Mystique fed her with that generous meal.

Crystal stepped out through a portcullis and looked out over the city. she then remembered the Baxter building and her idea to ask the F.F. to help.

She conjured a wind and had it carry her to the Baxter Building.

When Sue Storm learned what Crystal had been through she summoned Lockjaw and the two teleported to the Blue area of the moon where Crystal was reunited with both Luna and her real sister.

The X-Men welcomed the resurrected Sean Cassidy with open arms. After the Banshee learned the details of his new situation, he expressed a desire to join Moira McTaggert on Muir Island.

Since Sunfire and Wolverine were using the Blackbird in Japan he would have to wait until they returned.

The Ogre Mage that now controlled the Hand was upset. The Hand headquarters was now in a modern version of Tokyo.

Not only that but Hand ninjas reported the arrival of two X-Men, Sunfire and Wolverine. This was followed by the arrival of several enforcers called "Science Police". Several hours later Shield agents and Checkmate agents arrived.

Now the Hand ninjas were informing him of the appearance of many of Tokyo's base population. This turned out to be the lower caste populace who generally performed the menial labor in the city, low ranking police officers, janitors, food servers, etc.

Masahiro Arashi, recognized this would include low ranking Yakuza. Arashi informed the Ogre Mage; who's name was Oni Kuromaru, that as a high ranking Yakuza, he could take immediate control of the Yakuza with no one to oppose him. The Ogre Mage nodded and Arashi left with Tomoe Gozan to establish his dominance of the Yakuza.

The Silver Samurai was discomfitted at the presence of his cousin and Wolverine. He didn't want to confront them. Yukio and the Death Demon were noncommital but Lady Shiva was very curious about these new developments and went out on her own to see what was up.

Mystique arrived at Magneto's island undisguised in any way. She wanted Magneto to trust her intentions as her priority was to be reunited with Destiny.

She was confronted with the Toad, Avalanche, Whirlwind and Sabretooth when she arrived. Magneto came out with Destiny and met her moments later.

Mystique put her cards on the table. She would work together with Magneto's group, accepting his authority. She simply wanted to be close to Destiny again.

Magneto considered her proposal and accepted. He realized how effective Mystique was and knew she would be a valuable asset as long as she stayed loyal.

Mystique and Destiny embraced each other.

Crystal's relief was boundless, she was reunited with Luna and most of the Inhumans.

No one could figure out who the imposter Medusa might be but Sue Richards went to Nick Fury to report what Crystal had endured. Mystique's apartment was soon overun with investigating Shield agents to try to discover the identity of the imposter.

Skurge was a very happy half god/half Frost Giant. He finally had Amora the Enchantress as his woman and all he had to do was die to obtain her love.

Now he was her consort while she ruled Asgard. There was no sign of Odin, Thor, Loki or even Balder! The downside was the absence of all of Asgard's warriors. Apparently the Greek god Hercules had arranged the loan of these lesser titans to protect Asgard in the warriors absence.

Now Lorelei had appeared not long before Skurge with two superheroes, one of which displayed powers reminiscent of Zeus.

Asgard was relatively safe, but what would they do if Odin, Thor or Loki showed up?

Tigra gratefully rejoined the Avengers in this parallel world. The Avengers seemed to be scattered, since so very few were there to greet her.

Captain America was in Europe, dealing with the potential threat of the Third Reich.
Ms. Marvel was on another Earth called the 2000 A.D. Earth that was recovering from the effects of World War III.

The Scarlet Witch was helping Dr. Strange, the Black Panther was minding Wakanda, Sersi was in London with the Black Knight and Captain Britain, and Hercules was attempting to woo someone from the DC universe called Wonder Woman.

Quicksilver was running all over the place, dealing with his divided loyalties.

Thor, Iron Man and She Hulk were still in their own reality, working with Reed Richards, trying to find a way to save the missing heroes.

Mar-Vell and Beta Ray Bill could use some help in their fight against the General and Major Force but weren't likely to get any.

The Starjammers and Samandahl Rey were barely evading capture by the Saurian invaders of the Shiar empire and the Dark Phoenix was running rampant, terrorizing and destroying entire Shiar planets.

Except that the Dark Phoenix was suddenly confronted by a second Phoenix force!

This new Phoenix force drove the Dark Phoenix away from inhabited space and the two began an epic battle that Galactus himself could sense.

Galactus immediately called for his present herald; who happened to be the Green Lantern John Stewart, to report to him.

Galactus wanted John Stewart to guide Galactus to this cosmic disturbance.

This was the last thing John Stewart wanted. Oa was still very vulnerable and Sinestro was still at large.

The day reached the noon hour and Paragon City received one last arrival.

This took the form of several civilians from the Marvel Universe. All were freaked out by the sudden arrival to the new reality.

They were:

Pepper and Happy Hogan

Wyatt Wingfoot

Doug Ramsey; resurrected

Herbie the robot

Justin Hammer

and a Tony Stark, L.M.D.

Justin Hammer glared at the L.M.D. who he thought was the real thing and he couldn't contain his hatred.

The civilians were discovered by Shield agents and brought to New York City.

Happy and Pepper Hogan went with the Stark LMD and met with James Rhodes. A failsafe with the LMD alerted Rhodes to the fact that Stark was not really Stark but since Iron Man had not yet appeared, Rhodes decided the LMD would help protect Stark's secret ID.

Justin Hammer took over his own business enterprises and immediately contacted his daughter, who happened to be the Crimson Cowl. He was ready to stir up trouble.

Doug Ramsey was sent to Westchester and rejoined the X-Men to a very warm welcome from his New Mutant friends who were delighted to see him alive again.

Herbie the Robot and Wyatt Wingfoot reported to the Baxter Building and reunited with Johnny Storm and Susan Richards.

Lex Luthor was furious about the escape of Tigra. But he was pragmatic and blamed the Intergang agents that tried to rape Tigra rather then Cheshire. He was disappointed that Cheshire feared his wrath so much that she fled when it happened.

She was useful and he still needed her.

He ordered the Cheetah to find Cheshire and bring her back.

Despero wanted revenge. He was certain he could defeat the Hulk if he could just isolate the Hulk away from any of those mentalist superheroes, then he could show the Hulk who was the real threat. That's all he had to do, then he could shut Mongul up.
