MYSTICAL WARDS: Scarlet Witch can use Energy Shield/Deflection. When Scarlet Witch is hit with an attack, the roll is ignored and the attacker must roll again. This new roll can't be rerolled or ignored.
EE doesn't TARGET the characters in the area of effect, but it most definitely does attack them.
Since Mystical Wards doesn't care about targeting, EE will cause the special power to activate.
Thanks normal. Now on to the OTHER part of the question, does it negate the hit on the original target as well? I believe so on this one as well, but we ask to be sure.

Indeed. It tells you to ignore the roll. So you ignore it... and everything that happened as a result of it.

Pretty sure that is incorrect. It says it ignores that roll, which is specific to SW. It says nothing about previous or subsequent rolls against other characters.
The EE roll is applied to all hit characters, not just Scarlet Witch. Since the entire roll is ignored, the other characters hit are now missed as well (assuming the new roll misses, of coarse.)
I had this exact thing happen to me over the weekend and it was ruled that Mystical Wards would kick in and the entire roll would have to be re-rolled. They hit again so boo on that.

This is how I would have ruled it as well. Luckily for me, I was just sitting thinking about it, and didn't have to. Wards doesn't care who ELSE was hit by the attack, just that Witch was. So you ignore the roll.
