Just to clarify quickly, when you get hit for knockback damage do you check for knockback resistance (Combat Reflexes/Charge) before the damage is dealt or afterwards?
Also, if a character has one token and gets him by something like Demogoblin's Repent:
REPENT!: When Demogoblin hits an opposing character, that character's controller chooses one: give that character two action tokens; or that character's defense power is countered until your next turn.
Does that character get one token and 1 penetrating damage? Or how does token overlap work?
2. They would just get the second token and take 1 pushing damage if applicable. Dealing 1 penetrating damage to a character with two tokens only applies to Incapacitate.

Technically speaking KB is determined as part of completing the dice roll and determining if the attack is successful.
It is possible that some effects could occur between attack success once the die are rolled and KB is determined and yet before the damage is dealt.
