Just want to make sure I have this right (it came up last night)

HSS states: ... ranged combat attack with its range value halved for the attack. etc.

this "halved" is a replacement.

PW states: ... halves its range value until the action has been resolved. etc

this half is the area of effect.

so if he gets +1 to range, he would halve his 7 range (replaced to 4) and then modify it to 5. he then halves his range again for pw, and it's here where the total range becomes 3?
