Is it just me, or the forge states that the bonus it grants last for the rest of the game?, and if it's like that, is there a way to place relics back into the map? (other than being attacked by the murder of crows bystander token or selina kyle or similar efects on enemy figures).
If there is a way, it may give the forge a chance to see play more often
(Sorry if it's a dumb question with a simple answer, I haven't played long enough to know everything... yet)
really short answer "no", unless you can target your friendly characters with your "burglars"

Uru Forge
Relic 3-6
When a character would place this relic on its character card, choose one: Modify this character's speed or range value by +3 this game; Modify this character's attack, defense, or damage value by +1 this game; or remove this relic from the game and replace it with another relic of equal or less points in the same square.
like giving murder of crows PW or EE for attack you friendly characters
Quote
Murder of Crows
TAKING THE SHINY: When Murder of Crows hits with an attack, any relic assigned to the hit character is placed in his square.
or having two friendly Bilbo Baggins/Selina Kyle adjacent one each other
*note.- Selina Kyle is a prime character
Quote
BURGLAR-BAGGINS: Give Bilbo Baggins a power action when he is adjacent to a character assigned a relic. Bilbo Baggins can make a relic roll for that relic as if it were in his square and may modify the result by +1. If he succeeds the relic is now assigned to him instead.

PROCURER OF FINE ARTIFACTS: Selina Kyle can use Stealth. Give Selina Kyle a free action when she is adjacent to a character with a relic on their character card and you may roll a d6 that cannot be re-rolled. If the result of that roll is one of the numbers required to pick up that relic, place the relic on Selina Kyle's character card. Selina Kyle is not limited to rolling once per game for each relic.
You never actually pick up the Forge. It never leaves the map unless you chose the 3rd option to replace it. And yes, the bonuses do last the rest of the game.

Relics are never pick up only light and heavy objects are pick up, relics are assigned, and all relics leave the map when you succeed in a relic roll, they go outside of the map and their are placed on character card when are assigned.

RELICS
Certain immobile objects are listed as a “Relic.” A relic will be listed with a range of numbers. Relics can’t be destroyed.
If a character occupies the same square as a relic, that character may be given a power
action to roll a d6 that can’t be rerolled. This roll is called a relic roll. If the result of that roll is within the indicated range of numbers (or higher), the relic is assigned to that character, placed on that character’s card, and the character will gain certain abilities, as described on the relic’s card.
When a character with a relic on their character card is defeated, place the relic in the square they last occupied.
At the end of the game, if an opponent’s character has a relic on their card or all of your characters have been defeated, victory points for the relic are scored by your opponent.
@girathon: Are you sure? The forge is only replaced if you choose the 3rd option, so surely if you choose one of the first two, the forge isn't replaced by anything, and it gets assigned onto the characters card?

Actually the forge is placed on the card of the character regardless of the option you choose except for the 3rd option

Hey all!
Being that the Uru Forge is a Relic, it will be placed on the card of any character making a successful Relic Roll. In the case of the 3rd option, you will remove the Forge and replace it with another relic of equal or lesser cost. Please note, you'll have to roll again to pick up the newly added relic. ...
Here's a question for you guys I've not been able to come up with on my own: why do the last option when you get this relic? The only thing I can think of is to pull your opponents relic away from them, but is that really better than a stat bump?

I don't think it pulls your opponents relic, I think it brings one in from outside the game

It's useful for situational reasons, like you realize a certain power you don't have would be amazingly useful against a certain power, so you bring that power into the map with the forge.

No, the modifier only lasts as long as you have the forge. The modifier is the "relic effect" you chose.
