TELEKINESIS: Give this character a power action and designate another target character or object (A) and a destination square (B). This character, A, and B must all be within 8 squares and line of fire of each other. Place A in B. If A is a character, it must be a single base character and possess the (regular damage) or (tiny size) symbol. If A is an opposing character, make a close or ranged combat attack that deals no damage against A, and only place the character in B if the target is hit. If A is an object and B is occupied by an opposing character, this character may make a ranged combat attack targeting the character occupying B, dealing object damage and destroying the object. A character that has been placed by Telekinesis this turn can’t use Telekinesis this turn.
Today this situation arose. My opponent based my FFCW Scarlet Witch with his character (Cap/Black Widow duo). To the immediate right of SW was my FI018 Iron Fist. My opponents piece was to the left of SW. I TK'd my Iron Fist to a higher elevation, and he argued that I can't use TK because SW was tied up with his piece.
I argued that I could TK, and went through the PAC word for word, in our scenario, filling in the blanks. Our judge ruled it was ok, the rules stated nothing to contradict otherwise, but to him it was still an issue.
Would at TK'er be able to TK even if they are adjacent to an opposing character? I know in a different situation, you can TK a friendly character that is adjacent to an opposing because TK says PLACE. I have underlined why I almost 100000000% (but I could be wrong) can use TK.
He also argued that because my SW was adjacent to his character, I could not target my Iron Fist that was to the right of my SW. I explained by his argument, that would mean I couldn't use Outwit, Perplex, or Prob because I was adjaect to his character. He agreed with me on that, but still argued on about the TK. I will also point out that he didn't know anything to do with the ruling (he admitted it). As we went through it, he was still stubborn and agrued it even though it the way it was read and explained to him was pretty clear to everyone else. Am I missing something? Am I crazy? I feel like this is pretty basic and it upset the entire mood of the Final game after 30 minutes of arguments. It's also important to note that the TK I was about to make would have made a major impact to the game (so that could have been why he was arguing so hard).
