I NEVER DESTROYED THE CORPS IN MY ARROGANCE: Abin Sur can use Toughness. If an opposing character has attacked Abin Sur and missed, he can use Invulnerability instead. If an opposing character has attacked Abin Sur and rolled a critical miss, he can use Impervious instead.
If someone rolls a critical miss against Abin Sur, then a few turns later attacks him and misses normally, what defense powers can Abin use?
Also if Abin loses this power and then regenerates/steal energies back on it, he should still meet the criteria for having been attacked and missed, correct?

The way it is written, I would say it carries over for the game as long as he has the power. Seems poorly written and could be a pain to keep track of(although unless someone is having a particularly bad day, the critial misses don't come along that often)

I'd have to agree with this. Also, since it doesn't say the last time they missed, I'd say (again, as written) that if a crit-miss was ever made against him, he'd have Impervious until he is KO'd (as long as he has this power active) as it says "instead."
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
This is even more poorly worded than Mr. Miracle and Barda's power:
Quote
If Big Barda and Mister Miracle have taken damage from a close combat attack, modify their defense value by +1 when they are targeted with a close combat attack this turn. If Big Barda and Mister Miracle have taken damage from a ranged combat attack, modify their defense value by +1 when they are targeted with a ranged combat attack this turn.
Which was ruled that the benefits only last for the turn in which the successful attack was made...

An attacker targeting multiple figures should have to declare damage dealt to each target before making their attack roll. It just makes sense.
Can you please let me know what the duration is for:

How long do the defensive powers last for? If Abin Sur is attacked and the attacker rolls a critical miss, how long does he have Impervious?
If he has Impervious, is then attacked and the attacker misses, without it being a critical hit does he then go to Invulnerability or does he still have Impervious?
If he has Impervious, his defense is then Outwitted, what defensive power does he have after the effects of Outwit go away? Would he have Toughness or Impervious?
Please explain the duration and the different events that could cause his defensive power to change.
Thanks,
Matt
Hello,
1. He would have Impervious until the power is lost.
2. He would still use Impervious. The power checks that an attack has missed and that it was a critical miss.
3. Since the power was countered, all its effects would end. When the power is regained, he would have Toughness again.

This make no sense to me. Why would Abin not still meet the conditions that gave him Impervious? The "If an opposing character has attacked Abin Sur and missed" still happened.
I'm glad I was right, but I didn't see the OW answer coming. :-s

So, can anyone help me with my "I don't understand this ruling" problem???? I've tried posting two follow up questions on the "Official" page but they have yet to post them.

Can't help. Doesn't make sense to me either.

Each iteration of the power resets the check. The power is there, and it starts clocking up the defensive ability, until it is countered or lost. When it comes back, the slate is wiped clean.
Do I think it might have been easier going the other way? Certainly, but nowhere does the power mention any "until"s so the assumption is that the power is only alive while it's alive, and if it goes away and comes back, it reboots.
The power doesn't say this 100%, sure, but the check also doesn't say "since the start of the game" or anything, so the ruling isn't completely out of someone's ass.
If someone rolled a critical miss against Abin then Prob'ed it to not a critical miss would he get Impervious? Or does it only count if it is the final attack roll? It just says if they rolled a critical miss, which they did.
