Any body read the Obsiden age....lol people actually think superman is dead ...superman will live on forever....++ dont u think its stuping that Nightwing is the leader of the JLA lol !
the lol is throwing me off, again if you arent serious about me responding then i wont, i dont know if i could get SO emotional this early in the morning
You're just now reading the Obsidian Age? That's story has been over for nearly a year now. They've told the "Axis Amerika" and that stupid "Let's go to a neighboring galaxy to prevent a war" story since then.
Yes, in the 'Obsidian Age' story, Superman died (again). In fact, the whole JLA died. All of 'em. Read the comic.
That all took place 3,000+ years ago. Then the 'new' JLA worked with the Shaman to resurrect the 'old' JLA, defeat the evil sorceress of Atlantis, rescue Aquaman, and save the world. And it all took place in the timespan of about a week in their 'time', even though the story took 6 months to tell. That's how comic books work.
Nightwing, by the way, is one of the top characters in the DCU. And having him lead the JLA after Batman's death was totally believable considering he's lead the Teen Titans, and then 'regular' Titans for years, and now the newly re-formed Outsiders.

Give the guy the benefit of the doubt...maybe he's younger than you envision...maybe for some other reason he was just now able to read "Obsidian Age". This smells of the newbie snobbery that has been discussed here previously. The minute someone doesn't know as much as certain people feel they know, its time to belittle someone.
Scarecrow, no, when I read Obsidian Age I didn't think they'd all stay dead. What happened to Plastic Man at the end and in the followup issue WAS kinda weird.
I think Nightwing is sort of an "heir apparent" to Batman's position in the league. After all, Bats trained him well.
I don't think there's any snobbery here at all. Nor do I think that anyone was belittling anyone.
It's just surprising for someone to bring up a story that's been over for so stinkin' long (especially one that was so widely publicized, and was used to launch several other comics last year, etc.).
That's like starting a thread that said something along the lines of:
"Anybody read the Clone Saga yet? People actually think that someone cloned Spider-Man?! Spider-Man has always been Peter Parker ... and how stupid is it that Ben Reilly took over for Spider-Man?
"What do you think?"
And, when you boil it all down, I_Blame_You, there's not a whole lot of difference between my response and yours content-wise; I responded with the basics of the story, and why Nightwing was an obvious choice to lead the JLA. So did you ...

Okay Jac...if you're willing to say you stated your opening question to express NOTHING but surprise over the timing, I'll give you that.
But again, widely publicized or not, maybe this guy JUST picked it up for whatever reason. Its a great 'jumping on' point. How many times have you heard someone ask, "Where's a good place to start reading Title Z?"?
And as to my statement about Nightwing, I was not suggesting that disagreeing was belittling. You just semed incredulous that he was just recently able to read that story line.
I don't play that way, man ... but I'll give ya a handshake and call it good.
