How do I go about Nested or Multiple Mind Control with certain rules?
I'm posting this to know when to apply (or not apply) certain rules when using nested or multiple Mind Control. I understand that Mind Control had a special power allowing it to exploit certain rules like allowing an MCed figure to re-activate "once per game" actions, I am unsure of how to apply certain rules. The rules I'm pertaining to are the following:
1. Free Action Limited to 1 per turn per figure - (for simplicity sake, I'll just call it Limited Free Action). This is basically the special power of SLoSH White Witch and Power Battery (Green Lantern Corp.), which when activated or invoked, each opposing characters cannot be given more than 1 free action per turn.
2. No repetition of the same action for free actions - this is the rule wherein you are not allowed to do perform the same action twice if both are actions are free actions. (for simplicity sake, I'll just call it No Duplicate Free Action).
3. Damage Depletion modifier - this is the rule wherein you have to subtract 1 Damage for each succeeding attack performed by a single figure.
Assuming that part of the team are these figures:
DP Black Talon
GG Mole Man x3
SLoSH Solomon Grundy
Scenario 1:
Turn 1:
Black Talon MC 3x Mole Man (Action Token)
Mole Man #1 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #1 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Grundy only have Charge, Flurry and vanilla attack, so there's bound to have the same attack type being performed at least twice.
Q#1. If the opposing team had invoked Limited Free Action, would that still be legal?
Q#2. Does No Duplicate Free Action apply on Grundy?
Q#3. Does Grundy have to apply Damage Depletion modifier on succeeding attacks?
Assuming that part of the team are these figures:
DP Black Talon
GG Mole Man x3
Opposing team had:
SLoSH Solomon Grundy
Scenario 2:
Turn 1:
Black Talon MC 3x Mole Man (Action Token)
Mole Man #1 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #1 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Grundy only have Charge, Flurry and vanilla attack, so there's bound to have the same attack type being performed at least twice.
Almost similar to Scenario 1, except that Grundy is bouncing from being an "opposing" to being "friendly" because of the MC happening. Not sure if that matters but might as well ask it.
GotG Ebony Maw
Also assume that Ebony Maw had enough Whisper tokens on his card to perform his Trait more than once in a turn.
Ebony Maw's Trait:
Quote
WORDS, WORDS, WORDS: Whenever an opposing character uses Outwit, Perplex or Probability Control, place a Whisper token on this card. Give Ebony Maw a free action and remove a Whisper token to use either Outwit, Perplex or Probability Control until your next turn if he can't already. He may be given this free action up to three times each turn.
Scenario 3:
Turn 1:
Ebony Maw use 3 Whisper tokens to perform Outwit and Perplex for his Words, Words, Words Trait. Assuming he Outwits (or Perplex) twice.
Black Talon MC Ebony Maw (Action Token)
Ebony Maw use 3 Whisper tokens to perform Outwit and Perplex for his trait. Again assuming he Outwits (or Perplex) twice.
So for this turn, Ebony Maw basically made 4 Outwits (or 4 Perplex) for performing his trait twice.
Q#1. Was it a legal move for an MCed Ebony Maw to use his Trait again? I assume that it is.
Q#2. If the opposing team had invoked Limited Free Action, would Ebony Maw still be able to use 3 Whisper tokens to Outwit or Perplex when he was MC by Black Talon?
Q#3. Does No Duplicate Free Action apply on Ebony Maw, such that he can't Outwit or Perplex more than once during each use of his Trait?
I don't want to push but just hinting the possibility of multiple Black Talons MCing Ebony Maw for his Trait. For the sake of our sanity, let's not go there anymore.
Regarding the game's normal free action limits, it is important to note that when a character is affected by Mind Control, limits on uses of powers and abilities apply per Mind Controller (instead of the usual).
Powers and abilities that may only be used once per turn, round, or game may be used accordingly per Mind Controller.
...
Regarding a limit on free actions imposed by something like an opponent's Green Lantern Corp Power Battery's active Emotional Spectrum: Will, the limit is still active when a player uses mind control on a friendly character.
Regarding the Damage Depletion Modifier, it is still per turn, even when Mind Control is used.
Assuming that part of the team are these figures:
DP Black Talon
GG Mole Man x3
SLoSH Solomon Grundy

Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)

Q#3. Does Grundy have to apply Damage Depletion modifier on succeeding attacks?
Scenario 1:
1) A limit on free actions imposed by something like an opponent's active Emotional Spectrum: Will would prevent that sequence.
2) Normal game rules would only limit a free action to once per end of the chain Mind Control "session."
3) The Damage Depletion Modifier would apply as normal. Attacks (outside of no damage attacks and flurry first attacks) would activate it.
Assuming that part of the team are these figures:
DP Black Talon
GG Mole Man x3
Opposing team had:
SLoSH Solomon Grundy
Scenario 2:

Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Free Action)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #1 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #2 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
Mole Man #3 MC Grundy (Action Token)
Grundy Attacks (Free Action)
