Thank goodness! I was thinking how cheap and degrading it would be for Marvel to re-create her in the comics. And making her a mutant isn't really respecting her death.

It's really too bad that Marvel gave into the pressure on this issue. The key thing to understand here is that it was never a publicity stunt by some nameless Marvel executive to boost sales. It was a story idea by one of the best writers in the comic business to examine the nature of fame. I'm sorry that we won't get to see the story the Peter Milligan wrote. I have no doubts that it would have treated the life anddeath of Di with the appropriate reverence.

I'm kind of glad Marvel didn't go through with it. The story might have been interesting, but Marvel probably would have risked getting in quite a bit of trouble.
