some rules questions mostly pertaining to power batteries
Hey guys how ya'll doing?
I am still relatively new here and this site can be somewhat daunting, especially when you are trying to find a specific question that may have already been answered.
That being said i have a few questions that i need answwred. I apologise if they have been answered before but i couldn't find any.
Q1. If a character starts the game with a specific lanyern keyword in its name that isnt a member of wol, and they are given a construct from a matching battery, will they get the +1 to stats or special power? E.g. red lantern Mira (blackest night starter) gets given a construct from a red battery (completed, ring, construct etc all red) will she get +1 or poison ability?
Q2. If a character begins the game with a construct attached to it (Tomar Tu) will they get the benifits of the lantern or the +1 to all stats, or will they have nothing to do with the lantern?
Q3. I have heard that in the above question, supposedly they have nothing to do with the lantern yet. In that circumstances, will i then be allowed to give the battery a power action and give that character the construct? If i can, will they get +1 stats or special power?
Q4. Is there a way for a clix that started a game with a construct to drop the construct?
Q5. In the case of the star saphire emotional spectrum increasing range, will this still adhere to the +3 max golden rule.
Q6. In the case of the indigo tribe emotional spectrum and preventing characters that are not within 4 squares of a corpse member or the power battery from drawing line of sight, a) will this prevent things like even cosmic spiderman to not be able to draw line of fire, b) will this prevent pulse wave from being able to draw lines of fire ala shadow lass ruling
Q7. Can you mind control your own figure or team base? If you control a team base, can you use working together and make the up to 3 attacks?
Thank you guys and again i apologise if these questions have been asked already.
Another question, can i use energy explosing on a wall? If so, lets say my printed damage is 3 and i have 3 bolts, will the three wall sections as well as adjacent wall pieces all be destroyed?
Awful, and that was your one question of the day, so you'll have to ask the rest tomorrow! : - )

As long as the figure has the correct keyword, it gets the +1 to stats from the ring. I think that answers the question you were asking.

A construct attached to a figure via it's own construct trait is irrelevant to the power battery. You must still assign it a construct from the power battery to make it a corps member.

Which it gets will depend on its keywords.

Not that I'm aware of, but I don't know why you'd want it to.

Yes. Range is a combat value, and the Rule of 3 applies to all modifiers to combat values.

Cosmic spider-man's line of fire can't be blocked, but Compassion prevents it from being drawn in the first place. Compassion beats Cosmic Spider-Man.
I can't remember where pulse wave/can't draw is at the moment, but Compassion will work just like Shadow Lass, whatever that is.

You can't mind control your own stuff unless something specifically says you can, like GG Mole Man.
For the second question, I'd have to look at the text of Working Together and I don't have it handy at the moment. I defer this question to someone else.

Also can i do this to elevated terrain?
ENERGY EXPLOSION
When this character is given a ranged combat action and deals damage, an area of effect may include all untargeted characters that are adjacent to one or more hit targets assigned at least 1 damage. Hit targets are dealt damage normally, other hit characters are dealt 1 damage for each printed on this character’s base.
Splash damage will only affect characters, not blocking terrain. Now, as far as I can tell, you could target a wall and deal splash damage to all the characters next to it, but it wouldn't affect any other blocking terrain but what you actually target.
Elevated terrain cannot be destroyed by any normal means. There are only a few characters that specifically allow you to destroy elevated terrain.
1. If the character has the Red Lantern Corps keyword then it'll get +1 to all combat values except damage.
Mera from the Blackest Night starter has the Red Lantern Corps keyword so she would get the +1.
2. It's two completely different game mechanics that are completely separate from each other. The construct they start with does not make them a corps member and does not impact the power battery's emotional spectrum.
3. Yes you can give them a construct from the power battery. If they get the +1 to stats or not drpends on what keyword the character has and what ring is used.
4. No. Constructs cannot be dropped. However it can be replaced with another construct.
5. Yes. Range Value is a combat value so Rule of 3 applies.
6a. Cosmic Spider-man's Lines of Fire is never blocked however the Indigo Tribe's Emotional spectrum does not block the LoF it prevents it from even being drawn in the first place.
6b. The current ruling on Pulse Wave is that it must be able to attempt to draw it's LoF in order to ignore stuff. But the Indigo Emotional Spectrum prevents that.
7. You can only mind control friendly characters if a game effect specifically says so. Like Black Talon from the Deadpool set.
Thanks guys. The reason i wanted to know if the item could be dropped is because of 10th anniversary iron man and phantom girl etc.
The construct that some characters can start the game with is neither a Resource nor a relic or any other kind of object. Constructs are their own type of game element. So that construct will not trigger Phantom Girl's or Iron Man's Powers/traits.
However having a construct placed on the character card from the Power Battery also means that the character is assigned the Power Battery resource. And that will trigger the Iron Man's Adaptive Armor trait.

Suttkus is correct on everything except the part i highlighted in red.
I believe you can not target terrain and fig's in the same attack.

I disagree with their ruling, so they're wrong. : - )
Of course, we have another thread on the topic of whether splash damage qualifies as being attacked going on right now, with no good resolution. The "correct" answer would depend on how that resolves, given that the text in the book says:
No game effect can target or attack a character in addition to a piece of terrain or object with the same attack,
Well, Energy Explosion is clearly not targeting the splashed characters, so it comes down to whether that qualifies as attacking them.
Well, Energy Explosion is clearly not targeting the splashed characters, so it comes down to whether that qualifies as attacking them.
It is totally attacking. Why wouldn't it be? You've got an attack roll, compare DVs to the attack total, you can use Super Senses or Mystics and other attack-based defenses, etc.
AREA OF EFFECT
Some powers and abilities use the term “area of effect.” An area of effect allows a power or game effect to target more than one character. Characters within the area of an effect are affected even though they may not be within the character’s range or line of fire. When it includes an attack, only one attack roll is made and the Attack Total is compared to each target character as well as any other characters specified by the area of effect. When a character is attacked exclusively as a result of being in an area of effect, it is not considered a target of the attack and it may be friendly to the attacking character. The game effect including an area of effect will define how damage is dealt to hit characters and may specify targeted characters’ damage differently from other hit characters. When a power or ability uses a ranged combat attack with an area of effect, if the game effect describes target characters, then the attacking character may multi-target normally, possibly creating multiple areas of effect.
