An entity keyword/ata question and a question concerning sharpshooter.
1. If I'm using an entity to give a figure the black lantern keyword, which of these is correct with regads to assigning the ATA?
A. I pay the points for both characters since the keyword does come into play at the start of the game and allows the the theme team.
B. I only pay for Black hand himself, since I have to with him possessing the keyword, but can not add the ATA to the figure he is assigned to.
I'm assuming option "A" but I wanted to make sure.
2. A debate arose tonight during a game. When a figure has a single target and sharp shooter, if that figure is adjacent to 2 or more opposing figures, can he make the ranged attack against an opposing figure?
I was always under the impression that sharpshooter simply broke down ignoring the no ranged attacks when adjacent to opposing figures rule, regardless of how many opposing figures. My opponent posited that you may only ranged attack if you can and do attack every adjacent opposing figure. (Specifically a figure with share shooter and 1 target and adjacent to 2 opposing figures cold not make a ranged attack since it could not target them both)
Which of these is correct?
Thanks for the help!

I'm not up to speed right now on entity shenanigans, but...
Sharpshooter: This character can use IT:Ignores opposing characters. May make a ranged combat attack targeting adjacent opposing characters.
Perhaps because it says "characters" is why your opponent thinks you have to attack everyone? But that's not true. You may attack a single adjacent target, regardless of how many adjacent characters there are.

Correct. They can use the ATA and you must pay they points for that character to be assigned the ATA.
As for Sharpshooter, correct it doesn't matter how many characters you are adjacent to you can still make the ranged attack against just the one character.

So the points for the entity AND the character or JUST the possessee?
No. The possessed character keeps its original keywords. The only additional keyword gained is whatever Lantern Corps -based keyword the entity has.
With Watch List changes, Black Hand no longer allows anyone to become a Monster.
So Hand doesn't count as a character needing to be checked for theme if he's 25 points, so my Defenders team with Doctor Druid being Possessed by Hand is all still themed...? Sorry, I've not used an entity yet and I'm getting to very soon at my venue.

Nope
If you use black hand, your theme must be entity, monster, or black lantern corps. That is if you want a theme team. He counts as a character for that.

That's what I thought. There was a little bit of confusion on my part there. Thank you.

I just want to add that if your venue is following the watch list changes, then Black Hand will only grant the Black Lantern Corps Keyword.
This actually makes it impossible for Black Hand to be a possessor on an Entity theme team as no other character with the Entity Keyword can be possessed.
There are only 4 Theme Teams Black Hand can be on; Black Lantern Corps, Monster, Legion of Super Heroes (if you use Welcome to the Legion), and Duhg's Army (Black Hand will gain Duhg's Army keyword if he is a possessor).
