Simply question. Character A with 17 defense has Combat Reflexes. Character B next to him has defend with 19 defense.

Any enemy Character C attacks Character A in melee. Does Character A now have 21 defense? Or is he still stuck at a max of 20?

I'm thinking he has 21 but I'm asking this to confirm to avoid future arguments.

Since you replace before modifying, you would replace his def with the 19 first, then modify with the Combat Reflexes giving you a 21.

You can them modify it further with Perplex to a max of 22 since the rule of 3 would kick in for the modifiers.

You know that was one of those ideas I thought of that I thought no one else had considered in my lonesome, and then I looked online and thought everyone else was.

Awesome though, I've been looking for more lower point pieces with high def to put Adara on, especially since as of 2 days ago I actually own adara now (w00t! Random booster purchase).

I thought of Shrinking Violet, but in another discussion ended up resolving to the fact that she costs too much =/. I hate how easily pieces are disregarded. I really like her, but don't ever see where I could competitively use her with the kind of teams people make these days.

The new 25 point Atomica in the Fast Forces is better than Despotellis IMO. She can actually attack AND she has PC built in with a nice 19 defense.

Nope, it's just the TA. It's functionally similar to theme prob though. You can assign the action token to any friendly character on the map with CSA prob.

If u use his csa ability without a theme team, you are adding a theme prob to your opponents prob pool. Not worth it

Unless I'm mistaken, that's not how it works. Atomica's ability only references Themed Team Prob Controls, and doesn't mention any other form of Prob. The CSA TA itself shouldn't feed your opponent TTPC's.

Correct. It is only Themed Team Probability Control that she changes. Which is odd because she cannot use Themed Team Probability Control since she can already use Probability Control through her TA....

Ahhh, n/m I was having a brain fart. I was reading words that are not there. Her power triggers when anyone on your force uses TTPC, not just her. So if someone else uses TTPC then your opponent adds one to his/her pool. Makes much more sense now.

I placed 2nd in one ROC super qualifier, and 4th in another with a phoenix force team comprised of shrinking violet, phantom girl, fillers.

Don't doubt shrinking violet, she's hard to play but well worth her points, the trick for me was knowing which dial to swap to.

This doesnt work. One thing people tend to forget about the little bugger is:

VIRUS: Despotellis does not require opponents to break away. Despotellis does not block line of fire and cannot have its combat values increased.

Now what I have fun with him doing is having him pick up a legion Flight Ring. Then he can share that 20 DEF value with whoever is carrying him around.
