I will most often be playing this with the common TMNT and splinter. April and casey will be allowed on occasion. This looks so fun! Does it make them competitive? It not breaking theme seems great
If I ever get my hands on this, Slash, Splinter, & Metalhead will be my primary pilots. Slash makes the Turtle Van into a close range beatstick, and the van keeps that 12 attack safe from hindering terrain. Splinter fits better with certain turtle/van configurations, gives the guns Precision Strike, and has the potential of his Leadership actually being useful depending on the van's point value. Metalhead, well, I don't care for him, but being able to shoot anything with Precision Strike would be useful, though the mostly-useless guns should typically have a target more often than not.
Also, I don't see how those toppings are for flavor when several of them are pretty gross on a standard pizza. Guess I shouldn't be surprised that teenagers who live in the sewers would be devoid of taste.

Oooo Slash is a great driver! I'd say two useful powers and an invul breaking 12 attack definitely put him up there with (maybe past) Splinter and Donnie.
Played it last week with the four NickTurtles, Splinter, and the Animal ATA (x5). Splinter was an A+ pilot, between the Leadership and one memorable Charge-Precision Strike combo. His Sidestep was surprisingly useful too, allowing all four turtles to be adjacent to the van at initial placement- Splinter Sidesteps next to the van, power action to hop in the driver seat, and off we go.
The Pizza Dial was worthless, though. I don't think I predicted the correct Turtle one single time. And using the choose-multiple-times ability was never a better idea than just giving the van a power action to put Splinter back on the map for his super-Empower trait.
Can't say I'm fond of Learterhead as a driver, but Slash would be amazing. I'd just prefer Leatherhead on the map for buffage and his movement special. Also like both Metalhead and Fugitoad...same 10/3 w/PS while driving, but Metalhead gives that precious 6 range and fares pretty well after the van asplodes or you just need to pilot swap. In the end, though, I see Splinter as being my personally most used pilot for Leadership reasons (and keeping Splinter alive reasons).
Pizza dial is an interesting gimmick to add possible healing, but the nature of the d6 means it's not really a 1:4 chance of being right. You need to account for the click you're on and remember the sequence which...changes...order. BALDERDASH, sirs! Anyway...it means you have 1:6 chance for each of two turtles and 1:3 (2:6, fellas, same math) chance for the other two at any given time because six-sided die. Sooooo, you know. Frustrating and only occasionally helpful, from the looks of it. Still going to take that gamble though.
