Characters that occupy these terrain markers modify their attack value by -1 unless they can use Smoke Cloud or ignore hindering terrain for line of fire purposes.

It says nothing about only hindering movement versus line of fire, so it acts as normal hindering terrain and hinders both.

Had to educate a fellow judge at a WK Open last month on the whole hindering terrain > Hypersonic Speed interaction. I was kinda thinking, "Is it 2008 again? I had this same argument vs. a Zoom player trying to HSS me while stepping into water terrain back then..."

I've been playing clix with THEALLAMERICAN since the second week the game came out, and I was the one tying up everyone else's grounded HSS figures with my Bat-family once Hypertime came out

Just make sure you're using the newest Smoke markers from the starter sets -- they have a green box around them to remind you they are hindering terrain.
