ORIGIN: The most diabolical of the mind-enthralling Venusian worms first made his way to Earth stowing away aboard the Magellan space probe. Uniting with the megalomaniacal Doctor Sivana, Mr. Mind -- as Sivana named him -- planned a full-blown worm invasion using the wealthy Sinclair Batson as his primary host. Captain Marvel discovered the insidious scheme while searching for the spacecraft "Freya III", lost on the uncharted surface of Venus. With the aid of a sentient Mother Box, Marvel teleported the swarming worm-mass into the freezing reaches of deep space. But Mister Mind survived, later taking control of Department of Metahuman Affairs Director Sarge Steel and destroying Marvel's hometown, Fairfield, in revenge. Launching an assault upon Washington D.C. inside a worm armor-construct, Mr. Mind apparently perished in battle with the Marvel Family and their allies.
PROS: This little guy is a specialist of the highest order. I wouldn't think TWICE about playing him even in a modern game. He's only 68 points, and he is an incredible Mind Control piece. His attack is only average at best, but with his eight range and his 19 top dial defense he can bide his time until he is able to make something stick. Being a pre-special power era character, he has no way to avoid taking feedback damage from use of Mind Control, but at least they raised that limit to 150 and it appears that figures' point totals are trending to way below that these days. His Perplex goes a long way to help to give that little extra something when you need it or if you need to modify something on an opponent. With the proper teammates you can also make use of his Superman Enemy team ability to give Mister Mind or a higher point character Outwit. That's a LOT of utility for such a little bug in a jar. With the Willpower, it's almost like a free ticket to do it all over again.
CONS: He is BARELY able to move anywhere, and he is not capable of doing damage himself unless he uses his own Perplex on his damage value. He is, like I said before, a VERY specialized figure that does one thing and does it very well. The only problem with that is that if the situation doesn't need his specialty, he's not going to be doing much for you. The worst case scenario is that you're going to be down to JUST Mister Mind and one opposing figure. He's Mind Control is all but useless when there is only one figure on the opposing player's team (especially if they are playing a tent-pole team.) The best you can hope for is that your defense value will hold out and that you can Mind Control them to consistently run away from you, but even that is likely delaying the inevitable...chances are their figure or figures are worth more than the minuscule Mister Mind.
Other Players' Comments/Reviews: Using the Inline dial system, just click on the word bubble next to the character's name and it will take you to the units section comments!
KEYWORD THEMES: (Named Keywords are in bold)
Animal: I'll be honest...there really isn't a ton of thought put into this team. I started by looking for Animal keyworded characters that are also Wildcards. I came up with a few potential characters, and then I filled it out with a few good figures. I saw the opportunity to put in the Colossal Retaliation dial on Titano because WHY NOT play a giant ape and a tiny bug on the same team?!
Monster Society of Evil: It's just another reason that I dislike the Nu52 stuff...they just made a new Black Adam and a new Dr. Sivana...both are REALLY good, but neither has the Monster Society of Evil keyword because that's not who THEY are....Well, I don't CARE! Give me the good stuff! Some of these characters get made so infrequently (If at all) that I don't care if they fudge the keywords a little as long as they're adding and not subtracting. The pool of characters is EXTREMELY small on this one, but I've had a lot of fun using this line up in the past, and this time I'll throw a Terrigen Crystal in there to round it out. It's all figures that are AT LEAST five years old, but I'd still play this...
Psychic: This keyword has a grand total of ONE modern age piece that is still flying the flag. Why WizKids decided to resurrect it with Grodd in the Flash set is beyond me. It was the first and last time it's been given in a long time. Still, I'm grateful for it when I need to make a theme team around it. Full point Grodd and Mister Mind eat up a good portion of points (But are awesome and totally worth it) so that only leaves me a few points to work with. I wanted a figure that can copy the Superman Enemy TA and still provide a value to the team. I went with Dream Girl from the Justice League set. 50 Points buys you a flying character that can carry Mr. Mind Around and provide Outwit via his team ability as well as Probability Control. Throw in the Monster Society of Evil ATA to fill in some points and you have a very competent Psychic team.
In this section, I share with you my own homemade dials for these poor characters that have only ever had one or two versions of themselves realized. I'll try not to get too fanboyish with them, but I'm not making any promises! I also invite any of you who like to make fan dials to please share your versions of these characters as well by using the DIAL GENERATOR in the units section on HCRealms.

SUPER Tiny: Mr. Mind can be carried by any character (Even if they have a power/trait that says otherwise). He may not be carried on Click #6 Destroying the Multiverse: Give Mr. Mind a free action to put a "Destroyed Reality" token on his card. At the beginning of his turn, if he has five "Destroyed Reality" tokens on his card, give him a Double Power Action. Mr. Mind's team wins the game. Hyperfly: STOP. Mr. Mind can use Impervious. Mr. Mind possesses the Colossal damage symbol and the Quintessence Team Ability Mental Prowess: Mr. Mind can use Mind Control and Penetrating/Psychic Blast. When using Mind Control, he doesn't take damage from the use of it. You may replace his attack value with an 11 when using either power.

I still use this guy. He's a permanent fixture in Black Adam's backpack. He was one of the funkiest pieces of the pre-card era, and an excellent sculpt, to boot.
It's been way too long since I've played this little guy. One of the best pre-carded figures made and still holds up. He just needs an attack boost and a tiny symbol.
Oh man... Mr. Mind... Would love to see a reboot, but maybe not nearly as strong as SLVRSR4's custom dial! lol
I know Captain Marvel had a lot of enemies, but Mr. Mind was always my favorite out of the bunch. So miniscule, but one of his more powerful and cunning enemies!
When I got back into heroclix a few years ago this was one of the first figs I picked up, even though he was pre card. Still one of my all time favorites. I still field him often when we do ridiculous games.
He's even gotten a few kills by perplexing his damage to one and tipping things over. I'd love to get a remake of him but I'd probably sculpt swap since this is one of my favorite sculpts ever.

You think it's that bad? Given the same exact dial, what would you have costed him?
