Heres the question:

Lets say I decide to play Venom Hulk at 100 points. I place him on his second starting line which is click 5. I equip Brainiac to him. Does Brainiac start on his own click 1 or click 5?

YOU CAN'T REPROGRAM ME, YOU WERE UNDER MY COMMAND: When Brainiac is KO'd or if you pay 25 points when building your force, equip this character to a friendly character and link it to that character's dial. (To equip, place this on the standard character's card. The character can use its effects. If the character is KO'd or equipped again, KO the previously equipped game element. A linked dial is always on the same click number as the dial it's linked to.)

Your answer is exactly the line you bolded. The same reason older dials can't have Possessors linked to them.

You go by click #, so click 5 would be Brainiac's start point

Thats what I was thinking, I just wasnt sure if there was a rule anywhere that made the new starting line count as click #1 for any reason.

Printed click number 1 is inviolably click 1 forever and ever -even if the character has split dials with two #1 clicks.
