This year I took a different approach to 300 modern "ROC States" than anyone expected, at least out of the people I talked to and played against. I wanted to be out of the box, no Jakeem, no Shredders, no Bystander team, but something that I came up with, something that I could enjoy playing.
I went with Elijah Snow, and an idea to make him work.
Team:
Elijah Snow 120pt w/ Brainiac 25pt
Elijah Snow 70pt w/ Eclipso 25pt
Ameridroid 15pt
Ape Superman 15pt
Ape Superman 15pt
LVL 7 ID with Nick 5pt
Arrow ID with wkD16-004 Green Arrow 5pt
Spider-Man ID with Cosmic Spider-Man 5 points
Items were standard 2xHeavy and 1xLight
Map of choice: Arthur's Castle (Outdoor)
The idea:
Basically, the manipulation of time and turns. Pending the characters, turn one chill to the bone calls of Move and Power then turn two was Power and Move. This let me move the Snows into position, with the Apes as a taxi for them. Big Freeze is used turn 1 by the 70 pointer, unless they are all flight. Overall, this made it hard for Overdrive and Vanisher to move around.
After the first 2 turns, the game should be in motion, Barriers in the direct lines to keep the opposing player at bay when able, and Pen blast (both possessors grant this listed points) to get the first hits in.
In all but one game, I maintained a winning stance, but going first in every game caused my opponents to gain a free turn when time was called to go all out with no regret and gain a needed kill for the points. I finished my day 1-4 with all but 1 game going to time.
Issue:
The team is remarkably slow and takes thought. In testing, it was able to beat Jakeem 50% of the time, however I went 0-2 against Jakeem in the event.
I'm not sure what I want to do with this team, but I know that it will get some work and be played more, maybe with some more wins. I did really enjoy the team, it was really a good time and made for some great communication with my opponents. I do not regret playing the team and if I had it to do again, I would play them.
Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated. I thank you for reading and wish you all the best in your playing!
1) If you use The Big Freeze from one of your Elijahs, the other one can only move in a direct path. How did that hinder you?
2) You may not have it, but taking out Green Arrow and adding in Firestorm could be a nice ID. If you hit Jakeem with him, you 'remove' his possessor (equip, not assign).
3) The new Carnage Colossal would be nice on this team. When he retaliates he can drop a bystander with Plasticity, Shape Change, and Super Senses, effectively locking down the opposing character.

1) GREAT QUESTION. This is why I start with the 70 point ESnow freezing the game, taking the two of them and having to move around, only the 70 point needs to actually move. 70 point ESnow needs to move to make the running shot playable, where the full point starts with sidestep and can already place himself where he needed to get. This is also why I used the Ape Superman, it flys, so it can move the 120 (my ID caller) to either keep him safe or to remove a call in. This was a big play in nearly every game, they call in cosmic spiderman, shoot and hurt something, then I call in cosmic spiderman and kill theirs and let the Ape move ESnow out of the way.
2) For this I do have to say that I dont have the card, but it was on my mind, more due to the symbiot. I nearly played with a 5ID Teleporter and dropped an Ape to free me 30 points, but I decided against it. The more I looked at Firestorm, Venom, panther, and the 3 I used, I just felt more comfortable with what I picked.

My understanding was that you cant call the same action type twice even with multiple Snows.
