While we are getting the umpteenth version of Spider-Man and Wolverine, there are still oh so many more or less popular characters out there that are still waiting impatiently for their Heroclix debut. In this edition of Unclixed, it's the British vigilante known as Outlaw!
In the Punisher's war on crime, Frank Castle was bound to inspire copycats. Nigel Higgins is one of those copycats. Fighting against organized crime overseas, Nigel became Outlaw, teaching mobsters, henchman and thugs fatal lessons that crime doesn't pay. Outlaw would end up teaming with his inspiration on a number of occasions but eventually faded into comic book limbo.
It wasn't until a couple of years ago that a slightly older Nigel resurfaced, questioning his motives, methods and opting for retirement. Unfortunately, he would soon end up drafted into the Contest of Champions for the fatal games being held between the Grandmaster and the Collector. Eventually, Outlaw managed to turn the tables on his cosmic captors (and the Maestro for that matter) and sent all the abducted heroes and villains back to their respective universes.
Once he was back home in merry ol' England, Outlaw found a new purpose joining up with other European superheroes to form the Champions of Europe (having appeared to team up with the U.S.Avengers).
Why clix him? It's an oft-stated argument in making more people from a given character's mythos. In the case of The Punisher, we have very few characters directly from his comics that Frank used to engage with. We're still waiting on Microchip, but if HeroClix is going to make some copycats like Rachel Cole-Alves, why not get Outlaw in on this action?
Who would he play with? The Punisher, any other characters from the 2015 series and probably any other members of the Champions of Europe (if they'd make anyone besides Captain Britain and Ares).
What would his dial look like? Probably not too different from any Punisher dial you've ever seen. Running Shot, Ranged Combat Expert, Energy Explosion... maybe Incapacitate to represent Nigel's use of "Mercy Bullets".
What would your dial for Outlaw look like, folks? Feel free to reply as that's it for this edition of Unclixed! Be here next week for an all new Comic Accurate! In two weeks, Unclixed will be back with a DC villain!
