Just want to clarify this.
Old 2012 PAC for targeting: Destroys BT reads:
Quote
Ignores blocking terrain. When a ranged combat attack resolves, any blocking terrain along its line of fire to the target is destroyed
2017 reads:
Quote
Once per range attack, this character can draw a line of fire through one piece of Blocking terrain. Immediately after the attack resolves, destroy that piece of Blocking terrain
So, it used to be ignores blocking for LOF, and destroys all of it in attacks. Now it's doesn't ignore for LOF (for non attacks), and only destroys 1 square per attack?
I ask because I'm getting avxG001 Dark Phoenix Cyclops and I want to understand his ability. I'm ok with only destroying 1 square per attack but no longer ignoring blocking for LOF seems like a big nerf.
Is IT: destroy blocking terrain worse than IT: ignores blocking terrain? because the movement version works how I would assume, you either ignore it, or ignore it and destroy it.
Just want to clarify this.

Yes.
Anything that forces players to actually PLAY the game is a plus. Great change.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Just to clarify (after reading your first post again): this still allows you to target a character behind a single piece of blocking terrain. This is why it's important to get rid of that ignore word.
As is, ignore is preventing you from understanding how IT and IM work now.
Dark Phoenix Cyclops is still a crazy piece.

when you say target, you mean just for attacks right? It’s no long possible to outwit through blocking with this update if I understand correctly.
I think I’m understanding it correctly, I don’t see how the use of the term ignore is causing any issue, removing the effects of something seems synonymous with ignoring it. Could you clarify what you see as the issue please?
I’m sure DP Cyclops is still potent, the removal of the damage depletion modifier helps him, the regen change is questionable. But totally removing their ability to draw lines of fire through blocking terrain (outside of attacks) is a big deal, especially for character that are so heavily range focuses. But oh well that’s the way things go.

Correct. IT: Destroys Blocking no longer lets you draw LoF through Blocking terrain outside of attacking.
And as far as "Ignore" is concerned, bottom line is, it's no longer a game term. It is not interchangeable with current terminology, and causes confusion. "Ignores" had a lot of baggage under the previous rules that they've done a lot of work to clear up. It's just best to avoid using it during rules discussions.
Edit: Fixed

Remember, however, that giants already see over outdoor blocking terrain. It's only indoors where DP Cyclops actually has to use the IT: Blocking at all.

This actually hits right on what separates novice players from veteran players... while "ignoring" an effect and "removing an effect" is synonymous in English, Heroclix has its own game language (often referred to as "Clixish"). Clixish uses English words, but certain English words are used as game terms, giving them very distinct meanings that are different than those in English.
As LJ said, "ignore" was a game term that carried a specific definition behind it and it is no longer a game term... so using it can cause confusion to those that don't realize the difference. Kind of like if you were speaking English and then threw in random French words as you were talking. That's why so many of the "higher ups" are trying to correct people.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
Correct. IT:Blocking no longer lets you draw LoF through Blocking terrain outside of attacking.

Just to clarify, IT:Destroys Blocking can't be used outside an attack. However, IT:Blocking let's you draw LOF through any number of blocking, with or without an attack.

The PAC says:

IT: Blocking: Lines of Fire drawn by this character are not blocked by Blocking Terrain.
