So, I’m currently reading A LOT of Aquaman. I went back to New 52, and have been reading the entire Aquaman storyline, up through Rebirth, including Aquaman & The Others. I think I get like an Associates Degree in Aquaman now or something, right?

Anyways, I then realized that The Others are not represented at all in Clix! (besides Aquaman himself, and Mera, of course). What a cool team that needs to be clixed, and “The Others” needs to be a new keyword. Hey Arsenalroy2k, have you featured The Others yet in “Unclixed” ? Just throwin' that out there for you.

They’re an interesting mix of heroes/anti-heroes/misfits. This teams’ only drawback is lack of flyers. Vostok is the only one. In fact, one of the issues plays off that fact. There’s a scene where the team is falling out of a crashing jet or something, and Vostok is not there. As they’re falling, someone makes the comment about rethinking the make-up of the team, as some flyers would have come in handy just then! (Sorry, I won’t spoil it any further)

I’m sure these dial ideas have been thrown out there already, but my thoughts are:
The Operative would have a Batman-type dial.
Ya’Wara would generate her panther & jaguar bystanders. And she teleports.
Prisoner of War could have a cool mechanic where he gets different powers based on which “ghost” he accesses, or he could spit out ghost bystanders. He’d have quake and/or pulse wave with his manacles.
Sky would have a taxi-type dial, with teleport.
Vostok is your standard bruiser with some range too (and flight).
Kahina/Sayeh – mostly prob control.
Anyone have further ideas on this (or link to a thread that already covered this)?

I do see that there was a thread on this several years ago under ‘Creative Corner’, but I can’t get to it. I think it was suggested that The Others could be a Fast Forces set. That’s perfect ! There’s about 6 main team members, if you leave out Mera and either Sky or Kahina/Sayeh. I’d probably leave out Sky, since Ya’Wara can already provide a teleport/taxi source (and she kicks butt!), and K/S can provide valuable PC.

There’s even an opportunity for special objects / equipment here, with all those Atlantean relics that the team members have.

Come on WK! Please include this team in a future DC set!
For Fast Forces, they may not have broad name recognition (unless you really highlight “AQUAMAN & the Others”), but I doubt they would do any worse than the Runaways in generating sales.

(As in, I picked up the Runaways FF set a few months ago for $2 on clearance. So, probably not a good sign that sales went well for that set.)
