Hi all, first of all I know there are quite few topics on this on hcrealms however what I need your help is to try to find in the rules or PAC or wizkids page etc, where it exactly says that the Toughness/Impervious in the STOP click is also Protected Pulse Wave.
For example Mangog has "IMPERVIOUS COLOSSAL INDIFFERENCE: STOP. Impervious. If Mangog began the game on the 30-point starting line, he can't attack smaller characters except via Colossal Retaliation."
Some say STOP is Protected Pulse Wave but Impervious is not. Since there is a full stop after STOP I cannot prove that the STOP click + all powers inside it (Impervious or Toughness) are also Protected Pulse Wave.
I cannot find an official answer or a way to convince someone that I am correct if you can help I appreciate.
If a given power in (this case IMPERVIOUS COLOSSAL INDIFFERENCE) has Protected: Pulse Wave, all powers that are part of that power have Protected: Pulse Wave.
Any power that has STOP as part of it, has Protected: Pulse Wave that applies to each power.

Thanks. I agree with you but for some reason I can't convince the guys around here. Not sure what else I can explain or how different I can explain to convince them.
Batman/Superman Robot is the only one that doesn’t have the Colossal Indifference as a defense power, instead it has Impervious and the Colossal Indifference is his attack power. That means that a 1-Damage Pulse Wave will go through his Impervious and KO him. It also has Empower and the Colossal Retaliation on the Speed power.

The Pulse Wave is what earns him this spot though; we’ve seen similar versions of this sort of Pulse Wave before (the GOTG Movie Starter comes to mind), but it’s always been limited in some way (usually it’s only usable once per game).

Again, thanks.
I normally don’t like citing older articles because things can change, I think this one is ok to cite only to give your group an explanation that works if they aren’t fully understanding what the rulebook, the PAC, and Coyote’s Own are saying.
Some previous “stop clicks” stated that they could not be countered and/or ignored, while others did not. The game effect indicated by the new STOP key term includes the phrase “This power can’t be countered or ignored” so it will always prevent the special power from being countered or ignored. This includes not only the “stopping” effect of the power but also any other powers/abilities/game effects granted by the special power (for example, the Invulnerability power granted by Emma Frost’s special power in the example above).
Game terminology may have changed a little since then with the protected and PROTECTED keyphrases being added into the game. But from that quote, emphasize the last sentence to help them understand.
The whole point of the Protected keyphrase is to prevent the power and/or ability it is attached to from being affected by whatever is specified such as Outwit and Pulse Wave for STOP clicks. That’s why Mangog’s Impervious on his STOP click can still be used during a pulse wave attack.

Very first word of the power states it has the STOP keyphrase. What does that do?

Okay so this power now has Protected Pulse Wave, what does that do?

Cool, so this power can function even if Pulse Wave is happening. The entire power of Impervious Colossal Indifference has STOP/Protected Pulse Wave. The power is what grants Impervious in the first place so if the power has Protected Pulse Wave as a whole all of its parts do too.
Further more, look at page 12 of the comprehensive rule book to hammer it home:

The same is applied to any version of Protected so in this case the Special Power and Impervious have the protection.
