Ok I am helping my cousin make a Spellcaster deck. What are good Spellcasters that could help her out. The spellcaster monsters that I remeber of that she has are Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, Neo Aqua Madoor, Chaos Sorcerer, Sorcerer Of Dark Magic, and today I got her a Chaos Command Magician and an Old Vindictive Magician. What are some good spellcasters and support cards for them? Any advice would be great.

Oh! and I am gonna try and get her a Dark Magician Of Chaos.

skilled dark magician (1900 attacker that can get out the dark magicians), kycoo (anti chaos), gemini elf. magician of faith (get a spell card back). there are tons!

Don't forget Breaker, the Scientist, Dark Magician of Chaos, and spells such as Diffusion Wave Motion, Dark Magic Attack, and Dedication Through Light and Darkness.

Magical Scientist, and Apprentis Magician helps to always have a monster on the field for your tributes.

Also think about this.... Is your cousin a tournament Duelist or a casual one?

Dark Magician Girl= This deck focuses on getting her out and powering her up by dumping Dark Magician and Magician Of Black Chaos ( It's the ritual version of DMOC. Too bad it's not out in English yet.) into the grave. And sorry but NO DMOC will NOT power her up.

Then there's the Dark Paladin Deck= A fusion of Dark Magician and Buster Blader.

Yah I am aware that DMOC doesn't power up DMG. But it's still a great spellcaster with a very useful effect. I'm pretty sure my cousin is just gonna duel for fun. I would be surprised if she does do a tournament.

Personally, i dont really like spellcaster decks. I mean i love spellcasters! Most of the good cards are spellcaster, Breaker, Scientist, Injection fairy lily, Mof, Magical Merchant, Dmoc, Dark magician, Dark paldin, they are all awesome but one problem.

They have no advantage.

They dont, the only deck that actually has support is Dark Magician deck, but then, right now thats all, spellcaster dont realy benefit froms stuff unlike...

Beast/Winged Beast/Beast warrior: Who have Enraged Battle Ox for Trample. Nimbles for stalling.
Fiend: Who Ha des, and Dark necrofear
Warrior: Great Swarming, and D.D.....
Machines: They got jinzo, one the most of abused cards, and sweet Limiters.
Pyro: Well they Thing from crater, and also Solar Flare Dragons.

See, i am not saying Spellcasters suck, they are my personal favorite type, but they just got no support, other than Dark Magician.

Well what are some good non-spellcaster cards that could be thrown in that might be useful and help boost the deck?

Greetings for It is I: Makron the Mechanical mage. My main deck focuses around Machines and Spellcasters. So please trust in my experience.

Sorcerer of dark magic is definately a good card just remember that it is not entirely like jinzo since with the sorcerer you choose what traps are countered and also note that he is special summoned with his level 6+ spellcaster tributes. If you have at least four spellcasters in your deck level 6+ you can deal with this easily. The fast way is to get two sanwitch (since you said "she" your cousin will love how cute they look.) and a magical scientist then you normal summon scientist> pay 2000 life points> special summon two sanwitch and then special summon the sorcerer of dark magic from your hand. The sanwitch is a common in soul of the duelist set.

You will need some basic monsters. I suggest 3x royal magical library, 3x neo the magic swordsman, breaker the magical warrior, 3x apprentice magician, 3x peten the dark clown, double custon, 2x old vindictive magician, 2x mystical elf and 3x mystic tomato.

Some spells and trap suggestions: dark core, 2x a hero emerges, yami (if you want neo to have 1900 atk) or mystic plasma zone (If you want dark magician to have 3000 attack however the drop in def power also drops the def power of your opponents dark attribute monsters which are a extremely common attribute among players. ), smashing ground, book of moon, spellbinding circle, pot of greed, Miracle restoring, and waboku.

If you stall a opponent you may want to run standard burner spells like hinotama or the mask of the accursed.

In the early stages of the game spellcasters and went hand in hand as the first successful tournament winning deck: hence the fiend / spellcaster beatdown that you can read about at www.metagame.com or through a link on the yugioh realms home page. My point is that If neo aqua mador or someone does not provide enough power for the tribute cost you may want to slip a fiend like summoned skull in his place.

Spellcasters are extremely searchable so it is ok for you to have a deck higher than 40 cards when you run 3 mystic tomatos (searches all dark attribute monsters under 1500 attack including itself then special summons them to replace him.) 3 apprentice magicans (searches all spellcasters under 500 attack and special summons it face down in replacement this includes another apprentice magician. The apprentice magician also adds 1 spell counter to a card like royal magical library every time a apprentice magician is normal summoned, special summoned, or flip summoned.) and peten the dark clown. (This spellcaster is searchable by either apprentice magician or mystic tomato but can only search and replace himself with another peten which is good if you need to stall or need tribute monsters.) If you read that then you know that a long chain when your opponent attacks you continuously is possible.

Ex: Mystic tomato>Mystic tomato>Mystic tomato>peten the dark clown> peten the dark clown> peten the dark clown.

In this chain 6 onsters were thinned from your deck

now try: aprentice magician>aprentice magician> old vindictive magician > flip old vindictive magician and destroy a opponents monster.

and then apprentice magician> magician of faith> flip magician of faith and restore something like dark magician girl from the graveyard.

Thanx a'lot to everybody who posted. And thanks Makron. Your info really helped out. I'm gonna run down to the flea market this saturday to get my cousin a Gemini Elf and a Magic Cylinder. Would you reccomend those? I'm also gonna get her a Judgement Of Anubis to help build her spell counters for when I get her either Breaker or Skilled Dark Magician and I am gonna try to get her a Dark Magician Of Chaos to make it a little easier to summon Sorcerer of Dark Magic even though she already has Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, Chaos Sorcerer, Neo Aqua Madoor, and I recently got her a Chaos Command Magician. I almost forgot, I am giving her Black Illusion Ritual, Relinquished, also a Berserk Gorilla even though it's not a spellcaster, and maybe an Injection Fairy Lilly. Would you reccomend those as well?

Man! I am just forgeting things hehe. When she started I loaned her my Tyrant Dragon. Now that she is gonna focus on Spellcasters is it ok to keep Tyrant Dragon?

you people forgot about dark sage! lol i just pulled one out from dark beginnings 1. my first db pack and i got dat and also left arm of da forbidden 1..but i was actually lookinfor painful choice and jinzo cuz i just bought an amplifier recently. i have a jinzo but its jap and its not holofoil so ya.. oops off topic anyway, i tried running a dark magician deck but i dont have dark magician of chaos so its just not complete. i would suggest you using dark paladin with sorcerer of dark magiccuz dats ownage. dark paladin = no spells, sorcerer of dark magic = no traps

The problem is that if she ran dark paladin you would also need buster blader
who really would gain no advantage in a spellcaster specific deck. You would also need a couple copies of polymerizaion or fusion gate. Time wizard however is a good spellcaster suggestion and can turn a game around by himself or better wih second coin toss or last will active. However dark sage will need second coin toss. why? because it's insanely risky having to not only have the sage in your hand but to win a successful coin toss with a valuble dark magician on the line when a failure results in: dark sage stuck in your hand, time wizard and drak magician being destroyed, and losing life points equal to half of time wizard's and dark magicians attack and defense. Just run some cards of magic removal if that's what your going for: nobleman of extermination, spell jammer, de spell, giant trunade, dust tornado, mystical space typhoon.

As for gemini elf yes please go get them they may be dated but they are the original 1900 atk spellcasters. A tournament winning dark magician deck I knew of contained fairy meteor crush and axe of despair equipment. Which can aid you greatly and are now available as commons (fairy meteor crush: kaiba evolution deck axe of despair: yugi evolution deck) Please keep the tyrant dragon it 's effect really won't be as good as some of these spellcasters. And would only rob it of it's much needed spellcaster tributes. If you can get 2 gemini elf that should more than make up for it. Injection fairy lilly is interesting though I've never actually played it. But In theory it's a good spellcaster for your life points. Berserk goilla won't be neccessary with some gemini elf about. Relinquished is good just know that he's not invincible: he cannot capture monsters during your opponents turn.

Hey no problem. Any kind of useful info helps. Which one would be more reliable to pull out though if I can't get a Dark Magician Of Chaos? Dark Paladin or Dark Sage? I also forgot to mention this. Besides the Gemini Elf she also has Luster Dragon (1900atk) Is that good?
