How does this work...i heard that BLS-Envoy still gets to use his effect to remove a monster before you can Bottomless trap hole or book of moon him, because of his "priority". And I also heard the same for Mobius...can anyone tell me where I can find rules about card priority? And don't say Upperdeckentertainment.com because I already looked.
As the turn player, IF you summon a monster with an Ignition Effect, you are able to use your Priority as the turn player to activate its effect and have it go into Chain Link 1. Then you must pass priority over to your opponent to chain/respond to the summon/effect.
Priority does not exist in yugioh, the correct term as it should be called is an " Ignition Effect" in yugioh nothing fizzles or fades away, everything has a purpose and can be activated as other things occur, in yugioh the term priority is used to describe being able to activate effects first, or being able to play a cards effect before it can be removed, in the case of some one summoning Black Luster Soldier- Envoy of the Beginning, if player B activates Bottomless Traphole on the special summoning if black luster, black luster is removed from play and the ignition goes off, in essence, or what makes it easier to understand in todays day and age, his effect can be declared in use as he hits the field, if this happens, your opponent then has a chance to declare a responce, if the responce happens to be something removing the monster from the field, obviously the monster will be removed or sent back to the hand, but the effect will still be applied, the same goes for Cannon soldier, magical scientist, Catapult turtle, Chaos emperor dragon, and every other monster with an effect that causes something to be added or removed from the field,Example.... If player A summons Blowback dragon to the field, player B has a chance to ask player A if its igintion effect will be applied, if player A says yes, the effect of blowback takes effect, player B then has a chance to respond, if player B responds with Compulsory evacuation device, Blowback dragon is returned to its owners hand and its effect begins ( Flipping 3 coins) when the effect has ended, compulsory resolves as well as the effect of blowback... thats the easiest way to explain it... im sorry if im sounding confusing, because im confusing my self as of now..... ::: Takes a deep breath :::
Bottom line, in yugioh nothing ends, theres always a cycle when something is activated something occurs, its like a positive and negative reaction...the only even that i can think of when something in yugioh can fade away is in the case of last will and nothing being send to the grave this turn... idk how well i explained Ignition to you, but priotirty has never existed ...happy dueling... and if u dont believe me... for those of you who recieve emails from judges and the like, ask about igniton effects and proiority, happy duelin'
Wow, priority doesn't exist??? Make sure you let Kevin Tewart know about that after all that time and effort he put into the priority essay and sent it in to Konami.

Whoh, whoh, whoh. Priority definately existed and still exists today, all ignition effects cover are monsters that can immediatly use its effect upon summoning. Priority affects many factors in the game besides monster Summoning. Priority is used to determine who has the right to activate cards and effects at all times during the turn. If priority never existed, chains would be determined by who could flip the cards over faster, monsters wouldn't be able to use their effects immediately upon summon, and players wouldn't be able to respond to the end of a player's phase. Priority is very much a part of the game and always will be.
Also, there are many ways in Yu-Gi-Oh! to cause an effect to dissapear (not frizzle). If you use Compulsitory Evacuation Device on a monster targeted by Magic Cylinders, the Cylinders cannot resolve and deal damage. If Relinquished is flipped face-down with Book of Moon in response to its effect activating, the effect of Relinquished will dissapear. If Creature Swap is activated and your only monster is destroyed or removed from the field before Creature Swap resolves, the effect will dissapear.
