This is my first ever crack at an Archfiend deck that's actually going to last. Since Waldo's news post I've been pondering how to approach it. This is what I've come up with. Whatcha all think?
EDIT: Took out Mazerra and Zera, added 3x Mystic Tomatoes and a Jinzo.
I peronally like Archfiends, but i don't think they have enough on their own to be very successful, without other fiend support(Necrofear, Ha Des, Newdoria). but heres my fix:
-2 Checkmate
-1Battlescarred
+Archfiend of Gilfer
+2 Falling Down
Falling Down is an awesome card for archfiends, use it and abuse it.
Remove the VilePawns? Are you nuts? With those on the field, all my other Archfiends can't be attacked. Two Vilepawns on the field and the opponent can't attack. Kinda like Marauding Captain :D
I'm aware of what Vilepawn does , but in my opinion Shadowknight is the better card because it deals with things like Blade Knight, Kycoo, and Breaker. But that's just me, its your deck so you do w/e u want.
its a good start on an archfiend deck. I started with generally with the same monster line up. I guess the changes I would suggest really depends on what style/stratagy you are trying to pull off.heres a few opinions and seggestions....
drop the queens at least down to 1, with her current ruling errata she's pretty useless without heart of clear water. heart of clear water...I love this equip card with archfiends. this card covers you very well when your opponent successfully manages to get the ocassional 3000 attacker. this card can hook up in combo with almost half your monsters- queen, bishop, and pawn are all great choices.
more tribute monsters, push it to 4 if its comfortable for you. throw in metamorphisis and dark hex and bam! out pops lesser fiend into b fiend dragon pullin a little jinzo type action! pop dark hex together with summond skull (not lightning) and out comes B Skull Dragon! oh yeah, get some :devious: and those big monsters out there with pandimonium ..... well if the oppenent was dumb enough to vortex you you end up searching your 4 pointers straight to your hand.
+ 2 falling down +2 ax of dispair. this combo has saved me numerous occasions. you get stuck with no field monsters and terrorking in draw. just slap ax on thier strongest monster and slap em again with falling down summon the king thanx to ax on the field and its back to the beatings for your opponent.
archfiends oath plus convultion of nature. gives inconsistantly but adds drawing power. even if you dont pull off the combo the oath face up on the feild is enough to normal summon terrorking. it even says so on a tip card in dark rev vol 1!!
you could also try to side deck a direct damage out let trade in your pandimoniums for battle scar, cease fire,life absorbing machine, barrel + ring,ect. heres a few things but now I gotta ask, what are you going for in this deck? any combos you came across that might be useful?
