The two sphinx- Andro and Teleia *sry if i mispelt her name*, are they 2 tributes or 3? i always thought its 3 because they're 10 stars, but then someone in this other thread said its 2.. so im just wondering cuz if its 2, then mayb ill start running them..

5-6 stars is 1 tribute

7 or higher is 2 tributes

that means they can have 20 stars and they still would only be 2 tributes.

Unless....

1. They make a rule saying <insert monster here> requires 3 tributes

2. The monster's effect states that it requires 3 tributes.

3. The monster has a special summoning condition


then anything 7+ stars can be Normal (Tribute) summoned by tributing 2 monster's. Andro Sphinx and Sphinx Teleia only say they cannot attack the same turn they are NORMAL or Special summoned. If they couldn't be tribute summoned then they would've never said Normal summon in its text.

If monster's have an effect if you tribute 3 monster's (like Moisture Creature or Gilford the Lightning/japanese), you CAN still just normal summon them with 2 tributes since tributing 3 is only required if you wish to use their effects.

oh nice thx for da fast reply ns ppl.. ic so the sphinx(s) arn't that bad.. 3000atk wit trample and 500lp special summoning if theres pyramid of light.. :sleep:

edit: oh i have gilford the lightning =].. can i sacrfice kaiser sea horse and another monster to activate its effect since
gilford the lightning is a light monster and kaiser sea horse is treated as 2 tribute when tributing for a light monster?

yes, you can tribute Kaiser Seahorse to fill up 2 of the 3 tribute requirements.
