Maybe your friend has been playing with VS and got the rules for that confused with yugioh. It happens sometimes.

Anyway, monsters can be equipped with more than 1 spell card/trap. An example would be if i used Premature Burial to bring back my End of Anubis, equip him with Axe of Despair, then activate Blast with Chain targetting him. That = uber End of Anubis. =)

defentally not i see people summon Beserk Gorilla and toss on two Axe of Despairs on him for a 4000 beatdown
