My appologies for the lateness of my post. This if my first venture back to the net sence I posted on waldo's article long enough that I could write something up. Anywho....

In another attempt to find a schtick I can stick with, here is the first instalation (of possably many) of "Agents Favorites Binder". Today we're looking at an old favorite of mine from the pre IOC days, Different Dimmension Dragon (abv. DDD). This card's been televised before in Kiaba's duel with Noa, and Kiaba's deck at that point was very close to my own. Vampire lord, DDD, and even a Spear Dragon once. Noa's initial attempts to destroy DDD were futile, and not untill Shinato was summoned (to my knowlege) was DDD able to be rid of. I'm a major fan of cards with a high resiliance factor, as is noted by my repeated decking of Vampire Lord, Silent Swordsmen, Big Shield Guardna, and Sacred Phoenix. Lets take a closer look into why this card was once a game winner for me shall we?

First of all, this was part of my major plan to incorporate lights and darks into my deck for IOC's American release. Remember, the Envoys evil weren't known worldwide yet. Whispers from Japan on how strong these cards were gave me a slight giggle to think they'd be mine, but over all, I wanted Soldier more. Dragon seemed a waste of card advantage. My shining angels loved him, and my opponent's breakers struggled in vain against him. Why you ask? Lets take a closer look at the card.

As we can see here, it has numerous advantages before even looking at the effect. Being a light and having a low attack, it has perfect stats to be summoned by Shining Angel. Cards like this were perfect when Messanger of Peace was our only magic staller, and suddenly 1200 attack wasnt such a bad idea. Also, being level 5, it gives a good shot at getting Fiend Skull Dragon or Ryu Senshi to the field via Metamorphisis. Remember too, that before IOC was a land where both Witch and Sangan were usable. He was searchable by BOTH, and this definately helped when a tribute was needed. Now a days, it can even be summoned out with Masked Dragon, which helps more as it can then be summoned in Defence Mode.

Now, we get to look at the effect. Its first effect is what gives it half its near invulnerable status. Any magic and trap card that doesnt target will not effect DDD. This includes cards like Mirror Force, Fissure, Smashing Ground, Lightning Vortex, and Torrential tribute will have no effect on our plucky little dragon that could.

Duuuuuude awesome article, I look at DDD completely different now. Makes me wanna start running a dragon deck again.

Yeah, DDD is a very underrated card. It's sad that it doesn't see much use.

I've thought of running it in my Dragon deck, but the atk was just to low and my deck dosent run any searchers

Also, IIRC, Noa COULDN'T get rid of DDD. He just whipped out Vic Viper, equipped it with Cyclon Laser, and used that to get to damage Kaiba. It was odd how his deck suddenly turned into a Gradius deck, complete with Options.
Then Kaiba tributed DDD for BEWD, set Last Turn, and tried to win from that low situation he was in.

ahh good ol' DDD good ol' dragon deck such a fond memory. ^_^ also dont be fogetting just how cool our blue draon really is!

You can also run those crazy-unstable-destroy cards like Des Counterblow, Bottomless Shifting Sands, etc. and your DDD won't die.

I gotta comment again on your articles 'cuz their really good. And maybe somehow people would realize how fun other cards can be and they start making original decks...but I'm fantasizing (is that a word?).

I totally forgot about DDD, it'd be a great add to my dragon deck since I run 3 masked dragons

D.D. Dragon is one of my least used dragons, the next time I create a Dragon Deck I will more than likely use this guy. I love using Kiaba monsters. I still wish I had my old Kaiser Glider to partner up with D.D. Dragon

Yes i agree. With more articles of your favorite cards, we could possibly see one new deck. You might even be the one who can lead us into a new age, getting past the BLS one... lol

Nice article agent. I really think that DDD is good. I wanted to run a dragon control deck. After all, that is searchable by Masked Dragon..... I just cant find any DDD or else i would have made it already! see you at the tournament on tuesday.
