I had to take some time away from play to look around for any cards or combinations of cards that would kick this deck up to the next level. There was a lot of thought was involved as well as some playtesting and gut instinct and this is what I came up with...

It's hard to really pull something out of this deck that i don't like. But, i've looked through a bunch of decks and haven't been able to see the point of dekoichi. I mean i know it's a free draw but there are other cards that do that. I just don't see where you're abusing it. If you were using Tskukiyomi i could see a reuseable draw engine. I know it's dark, but it's not like you're running any sort of chaos either and you're not even running the frieght trains to get extra draws. Please be the one to explain this to me. I just don't get it. Why not just run Magical merchant. it will let you thin your deck and magical merchant will let you draw out spells. By using magical merchant you'll be able to get monsters in the graveyard to use the effect of Pot of Avarice more effectively and remember with pot of avarice you can keep reusing your magician of faith and your magical merchant to keep drawing cards. That seems like plenty of speed to me. I just see avarice, pot and magical merchant being a pretty sweet draw mechanic... i havent tested it to it's fullest potential though.
I don't understand the point of calling this dragon control... Why not just change a couple of cards and make it just plain horus control.... the dragons aren't making it any faster. I personally would run slate warriors over luster dragons and spear dragons... or something even bigger to battle cyber dragons i'm thinking zombyra...... (Add another reinforcements if you want after that.... because then you have like 6 or 7 warriors.)
with zombyra and magical merchant in there now you have enough lights and darks to side deck or main deck yourself a chaos sorcerer. I'd do this for just a couple of reasons. First reason i'd do that is a special summon = tribute fodder for lv 6.... that means you can get level 8 quicker... second it's effect will always come in handy in an aggro heavy game.

I don't like that many monsters, but with Pot of Avarice and Magical Merchant floating around i think it would be nice. You may not like my ideas, but i think it would be an interesting mechanic to play test. Besides that my fixes are cheap...
the rest of your build looks real nice to me.. i just don't know about your side deck. But I can't help you with that because i don't know your meta.
I usually run a lot of monster removal.... so how is it with out any monster removal in the trap section...?!!

Bam Horus 8 back in gameplay his effect comes back once you say END TURN@! and he can atk next time.
UberDueler- Sure, I have no problem in explaining the points that confused you....
Dekoichi is in there for its ability to gain +1 draw unless denied by a card effect. With Magical Merchant, you run the risk of losing an important monster even if you do get its effect off.
Why is it called Dragon Control? Hmm, let's see....Luster Dragons for solid stats, Spear Dragons since people feel safe in playing 2-3 Spirit Reapers, Mirage Dragon because most of the widely used Traps are Battle Phase Traps, and the Horus family for increasing Spell control (yes, the Horus family IS a family of DRAGONS!!!)
The Chaos Sorceror idea? I'll pass...I got my 2005 Qualifier because of the Spear & Luster Dragons, it can be done again.
Elixed Magician - Spear Dragon works its best in 3s and you should know this from the mass amounts of Reapers played down there...And, if 1 Widespread Ruin can act as a 4th Sakuretsu Armor, then Mirage Dragon can act as a 4th Decree. I did try out 2 Survivor instead of 2 Assailant and it failed....Swordsman can stay in the S/D.
Oh yeah, about the 1/28 Regional: I doubt I can make it there...I do look forward to the Regional in Jacksonville though.
Click - Umm, try reading the card before suggesting it in a deck because there's 3 things wrong with your post....
#1 - Level Modulation - UBER AWFUL in decks with Horus in them!!!!
#2 - YOU don't draw any cards when you play it, YOUR OPPONENT DOES!!!
#3 - I say "End Turn", my opponent says "End of turn, I'll Book of Moon your LV8..." and IT WILL go FACE DOWN because I can't use its effect "then I'll play Nobleman on it..." because it's face down, it can't stop any Spells...
So for playing 1 card, I give my opponent 2 free cards and what do I get out of it??? A removed LV8....Evens out, doesn't it?
ByrdGang_Dippy - The 3 Controller idea is insane....but I understand what you mean by the topdecking meta. Strange though, this deck is actually extremely good when it comes to topdecking. Although I'm not a big fan of Torrential, I could consider it.
Like The Build But Don't Particulary Care For Lv. 4's They Are Releatively weak for destroying monsters just for his searching effect...I'd Switch Them for some BTH's
The only problem with that suggestion is that I would be adding in something that would be more of a dead draw than a benefit not only in my deck but against the current meta...If you notice:
The higher threat monsters are the monsters that fuel a deck's control mechanics and most of them are 1500 ATK and lower: Mystic Tomato, Don Zaloog, Dekoichi, Spirit Reaper, Sangan, etc.
Also, with this deck currently housing 4 Traps total with 3 of them being Royal Decree, Bottomless Trap Hole becomes an inconvience when drawn with Decree active whereas Horus LV4 serves some purpose as either an offensive or defensive monster and through Decree, its chances of fulfilling its requirement is slightly increased.
There is also a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to use Horus LV4. Now, I'm not saying that I know this monster the right way 100% but there is a way to get the most advantage out of this monster and I learn that with each duel I play in...
No Scapegoat or Mobius sided? Oh well. The Spiritualism is a great idea no one will see coming, especially against another Horus player. And Messenger is always a good card. I think in your last build, you had 2 Messengers main decked.
The deck mainly carried 1 Messenger of Peace in the Main Deck but was switched to the Side due to the meta's true threat elements.
That 1 lone copy of Dragon Piper is in there for protective reasons.........Yes, protective reasons.
I did manage to experiment some more and I actually gained some respect for a card I would have never thought of using:
Rocket Warrior
I decided to use it as a replacement for a 2nd Assailant and I found that this card's VERY underrated...One of the best decoy cards released. You have a Smashing Ground in hand but you're thinking of what that face-down monster could be?? Afraid it's an Assailant or Kinetic Soldier? What if it's a Reaper? Smack right into it with Rocket Warrior for insanely good results. You won't take any damage and if it is a Reaper, say goodbye to it....
Sure, Getsu Fuhma's cool but NO CARD makes your opponent say "Huh??" faster than Rocket Warrior...Good shiny pimp.....
I'd run Getsu Fuhma because it looks cool (no one can say the art work is not awesome). Too bad it's not that great unless you are only facing spirit reapers and pyramid turtles.
But it's about time others recognized Rocket Warrior's great potential. If BLS were still legal, this card would have made an awesome addition to Warrior-Chaos builds. But otherwise, it's still great, especially since 500 ATK can be a huge difference between killing a monster and not killing it. Gives Reflect Bounder a bad name.
