Wow, a Life Gain deck. I like it, mainly because I haven't seen a serious attempt until this one. Life gain by itself doesn't win games, so we need a way to deal damage.
-2 Fushi No Tori
-1 Granadora
-2 Kiseitai
-3 Grave Protector
-3 Pyramid Turtle
-1 Immortal of Thunder
Fushi no Tori might have been a good card had it not been a spirit. Spirit reaper is becoming harder and harder to keep on the field due to an increase in Drillroid, and spirits don't contribute to your field. Kiseitai and Grave Protector shares this problem. Using Grave Protector to prevent the damage from Immortal of Thunder and Granadora is a good thought, though keeping it on the field long enough to abuse it is difficult. Pyramid Turtle can only search out Spirit Reaper. With only 5 targets (2 of them being more Turtles), they seem unwarranted.
+3 Fire Princess
+3 UFO Turtle
+2 Fox Fire
With Fire Princess, your Life points can go towards doing damage also. Fox Fire is also a good defender alongside Spirit Reaper. Just remember that Fox Fire needs to be face up when it is destroyed if you want his revival effect to go off. UFO Turtle is a good searcher to get out these monsters.
-3 7
-2 Heart of Clear Water
-1 Spring of Rebirth
We need a good magic lineup to abuse both the lifepoints you're gaining and Fire Princess's effect.
+2 Last Will
+1 Premature Burial
+1 Emergency Provisions
+2 Mystic Box
+1 Card of Safe Return
With Last Wills, you can bolster your field presence by ramming a UFO Turtle into something bigger to get a FoxFire/FirePrincess with another monster (like Reaper). One more EP is added because it is the greatest single card LP gainer in this game. Mystic Box is for destruction, obviously, but giving them a UFO Turtle/FoxFire/NimbleMomonga isn't much of a loss. Card of Safe Return works in conjunction with Fox Fire.
Your previous Trap selection is very defensive, but the one-use-only factor isn't so good. You're also giving up cards you might otherwise need, and it is already difficult to maintain hand advantage with this deck.
+1 Call of the Haunted
+2 Solemn Wishes
+2 Good Goblin Housekeeping
+2 Chain Destruction
The Solemn Wishes is a smaller, but less resource draining source of LP gain. You can use it more than once per turn if you activate Good Goblin Housekeeping, or if Card of Safe Return goes off. The Good Goblins are here to keep your hand realtively healthy (with the Provisions). The Chain Destruction is a piece of tech I've picked up a while ago to combat DDAssailants. Since it sends all copies of a card to the graveyard, why not use it on your own Marie the Fallen One to pull 2 of them into the grave at the same time? It's a good side deck card people should start looking into anyway, since it also takes care of an opponent's Spirit Reapers, Mystic Tomato, Don Zaloog, and Newdoria also.
I admit that this is overly combo-reliant, and it might not fit your playing style, but it should definitely be more successful. Have fun :)
Appreciate the input. For a while there I thought the deck was going to go to page three without a comment. :)
The current meta of deck builds had me down lately. Even with the ban, I kept seeing the same cards being recycled and rehashed, just in different combinations. This is just one of my decks that's openly defying that construction style. ;) From now on, I'm going to build in a direction that just the opposite of everyone else. Just to see what can be done.
Ironically, the monsters you suggest I remove are the monsters I can't take out. :D They are the "non-playable" monsters that I'm going to make playable with a little time a research. If you look at the trap linup, you'll notice they do a lot of what Grave Protector is trying to do.
Your right about Pyramid Turtle. Their only in there to retrieve the Reapers and nothing more. Reaper's will be a fundamental part of my strategy, though I can't say I run into Drilloid quite that often (or at all really). Fox Fire is something I'll consider to suppliment the Spirit Reapers, but I don't think there will be room for UFO Turtles.
Thanks for the suggestions. The Immortal of Thunder and Ganadora will have to stay though, as the sell/trap linup was constructed with them in mind. :D
