If i activate my Mirage if nightmare and my opponent responds wiith macro cosmos what will happen?

The chain will resolve normally...

Macro Cosmos, assuming nothing removes it in further Chains, will resolve.

Mirage of Nightmare will resolve and sit face-up on the field.


...if you mean when you have to discard...you merely remove the cards from play instead of sending them to the Graveyard.

Because arnt there some card effects and things that dont work because they have to go to the graveyard like sangan (damn thats a bad example) and mirage says discard to the graveyard..

So with Mirage of Nightmare they would be sent to the graveyard, but when they would they are removed from play instead because of Macro Cosmos.

In this sort of scenario, you merely resolve as much as you can...the cards you discard with Mirage will simply be removed from play instead of going to the Graveyard.

Yes, there ARE some cards that REQUIRE going to the Graveyard to work, but then again, there are also some that say "sent to the Graveyard", but can still work otherwise, but resolved as much as they can.
