here's my situatiopn:

I have spell absorption on the field. My opponent plays relinquished, using his effect to nab my mon. technically, the card was already activated when it was summoned, but it wasn't a spell card there, and may be considered reactivated... right? do I gain the lp with absorption on the field?

Another example could be Dark Necrofear instead of Relinquished...even though it becomes an Equip Card, it activates as a Monster Card and then "changes" into one after.

I've always tough that Dark Necrofear becomes to equip spell as union monster, and equips itself then, with should be considered as activation.....I've negaten so many that kinds of things wiht spell shiled-type 8

It is considered activation a MONSTER EFFECT activation.

A.) No...a monster is ONLY a "Union Monster" if it states so right on the card itself.

B.) You did it incorrectly then...Dark Necrofear activates as a Monster Card and then becomes an Equip Card...which is why Horus LV8 can't negate it...
