Welcome to the Weekly Marvel Comics Review Thread!
Every week we'll put up a "sticky" thread like this one so people can review and discuss the current weeks Marvel comics.
The threads will stay at the top of the Marvel Comics forum from Wednesday afternoon until the next Wednesday morning, after which time they'll be "unstuck" and return to their chronological spot in the forum, to be replaced by the current week's thread. Each thread will be marked with the ! icon.

Great issue. the best i've read all month! It shows Cap. meeting up with the rest of the rebelion. Red Skull hangs pete parker, but pete's rescued by ben n jonny, and they get their car blown up and die. skull captures cap, but stark lets im outa his cell before they disect him. stark was always a spy, but i think he gets killed, they don't show him dying, but getting shot at.
art: 8.5/10
story: 9/10
all: 8.75/10
Hawkeye - #1 - 8/10
I was never a hawkeye fan, but its not like i hated him, i just had no interest. but now its like he's wolverine! he sees this chick gettin beat up at a bar and stops it with a hair band and a spoon! then he does some udercover work, finds out the story, beats up the guy who she says sent im, but it turns out she played im good and he beat up the wrong dude, kinda...
Here we go for the 10/22/03 Marvel Comics Reviews!
Note:Incase some people don't know how my reviews work this is the way it works. I try to provide as little spoilers as possible. The grading is based on a scale of 1-10 for Story, Art and Overall which is a combination grade of Story and Art. I never go beyond 10 or below 1. On rare occasions I will an award and I only give out ONE award. That award is gold for MUST READ, I also try and make them as entertaining as possible. Oh yeah one more thing.....I will tease you!!!
Amazing Spider-Man 500
Okay....to start buy this ASAP! It'll go up in price in the future seriously! Now, to really start, this was one of the best Spider-Man issues I have ever read. Does anybody here remember my review on Superman/Batman #3? I gave it a 10 overall and my gold must read award. Why? Because it had villians galore. Well in this issue there are villians galore but thats not what makes it perfect believe it or not. Its because of the fact that it tells such a great story. Heres the get-go. Spidey has to go back in time and do some stuff to his past so he can get back to the sub-present (around 10 minutes after he left) and tell Mr.Fantastic not to fall into Dormamu's trap. Well he does it successfully and then when all of it is done Dr.Strange gives Spidey the best present he could want. Of course I'M NOT GIVING YOU A CLUE to what the present was but the present is what makes the story. Thats all there is to it.
Story-10 [This was one of the best Spidey comics I have ever read. What do you think it was getting a 9.5?]
Art-10 [Perfect art goes with a perfect story]
Overall-10-[Just buy the issue. Or 2. Or 3. Or 4!]
GDG's MUST READ Award!!!-----This was one of the best Spidey comics I have ever read. You MUST READ this comic book.
Emma Frost 4
This was a pretty good comic. Once again we get a very erotic cover by Greg Horn. But besides that the comic was pretty good. After Ian got fired because of Emma's father Emma was bound to get even so she did some snooping and found out some dirt on her dad. But thats not all as we learn something quite interesting about Christian. All in all not bad.
Story-8[Its a pretty good story with its very few flaws here and there.]
Art-9[I love the art so much that it's gotta get a 9]
Overall-8.5[A pretty great comic all in all]
Hawkeye 1
A start of a brand new series...... Jesus Christ Marvel give the number ones a rest! What are you trying to do, decrease the values of # ones? Anyway this was a pretty great first issue. It tells a little bit about Hawkeyes origin and then it shows him acting all like a vigilante when he sees a wife-beating happening. He also kicks some arse against some people so its not bad.
Story-8[I like it as a first issue and look forward to the second]
Art-7 [Ehhhhhh the art is decent, so-so, etc]
Overall-7.5 [Not bad of a start to the series. I still recommend.]
Thats all for reviews this week. Check back next week when I review more Marvel Comics.
I hated it! Satan is NCs father...what is this a sick rendition of the Empire Strikes Back script....and another of the problems...the Mighty Morphin' Alpha Flight Rangers...The armored look has got to go!
I wasn't that taken by this issue. I haven't ben a fan of Amazing for a long time now. Plus, I've never been a fan of Romita JR's work on Spider-Man, though his newer stuff is alot better, I still can't enjoy it that much
The story has too much of a cosmic feel with Dr Strange and the whole time travel thing. That kinda thing never sits well with me in a Spidey series.
Seeing Spidey relive classic moments in his history was the best part of the story. But the "Future" Spider-Man sequence was kinda meh. As for the "gift" the final surprise of the issue. It was nice, but, what Peter called this character a few times didn't work for me. You'll know what I mean when you read it.
Fantastic Four #505
I regret not having every issue of Waid's run on the FF. Everything this man has done has been gold, even Doom's new armor. I need to go buy the latest TPB, but that is another thing.
The issue is great, something is obviously up with Reed, he's appointed himself Monarch of Latveria and invited the residents into Doom's castle to destroy and steal anything they please. In one scene, one man points out a gold portrait frame. Another says "Leave that be, it is his Mother" or something to that effect, then Reed rips the picture out of the frame and tells the men to take.
Ben tries to talk some sense into Reed, who is acting stranger and stranger. Some touching moments between Reed and Franklin that really make you feel for Reed.
The ending is a SHOCKER, it's pretty cool. Though I hate the look of the new Doombots.
This whole ish is pretty much just DC vs. Marvel. The art is good, but the whole plot so far is very shallow. It's not really a new plot, just the same one with a couple of different characters.
Story: 5 (could be MUCH better)
Art: 8 (Perez has still got it)
Overall: 6.5
If you buy it for no other reason, buy it for the Batman/Captain America scene. Sure, it's short, but it'll drive any fanboy wild. Some things get explained, but the plot really isn't advanced through the book. Then you get to the last three pages. Woo-boy. Still, this goes on my must-read list.
Spider-Man #500:
You know, I had high expectations for this beast. And when I mean high, I mean something in the realms of unbelievable. In that respect, it was a bit of a let down. But then I read it again and just appreciated it for what it was. And it is this: A well-fitting, well-written, very well-drawn tribute to the legend of Spider-Man. Again, a must to pick up.
Oh, and for some reason, I have a subscription to Uncanny X-Men, and I don't think I've even opened up the new issue. It seems every series I touch either gets ruined or cancelled.
Herald and 1000th poster of the Box.
Herald of Shin_Goji, too!

Are you serious about the 'Elf??...Yes...as of the current issue that is how this looks.
They tried this ####py armor-type uniforms back in the early 1990's. It didn't work then what makes them think it will work now???? ...Yeah, now meet the Iron Sasquatch. I bet you haven't seen THAT look before.

I agree all the way down the line. Marvel already has a character like this, Hellstorm.
There is no need to make Nightcrawler a son of satan as well. Like I said, Hellstorm has already done this. Already gone through the religious ramifications of it and had his faith struggles with it. Now we get to see Nightcralwer do it as well?
Does this mean Nightcrawler's appearance is not because he is a mutant? Are his powers demon based? how are they going to pull their nuts outta this one?
I miss CC, Wish he would do Uncanny again. I liked his idea that Mystique would have been Nightcralwers father and Destiny his mother.
####, and soon Austen will be on the Avengers. So that is one bright spot for you X-Men fans.

Everywhere you look, there's a freaking Monkey doing his business!
so that would make Son of Satan, Graydon Greed, Sabertooth, Rogue(adopted), the lord of darkness, and Mystique all related to Nightcrawler. And if Satan is related to Odin and if Rogue marry's Gambit then... oww my head is starting to hurt.
