I went to my first league play (the second the shop had) today. It was a blast. There were four rounds, about 14-16 people there. Each round was best out of three and I won all four match ups 2-0. There were some pretty neat decks there. The most popular were Fire/Light and Light/Water/Nature. Not many people used Holy Awe, but after I beat most of them by using Holy Awe to get my last attack through, I think they will be adding them to their decks. We got an Armored Groblav for playing and once you get a total of I think 8 match wins or 16 points (3 points per match for a win) you get Barkwhip. No one has gotten it yet but the shop owner showed us the pack just waiting to be handed out :D Can't wait till next Saturday, might be able to get the Barkwhip if I continue my streak.

I'm doing great, our JDC thing is free and you get an Armored Groblav for 8 single-match wins (I did that) and a Barkwhip for 16 single-match wins and another Groblav for 20 single-match wins. I have had 12 wins so far from the two times I attended the league (they accumulate) and I expect to win a Barkwhip next time and maybe even snag another Groblav.

P.S. Was your JDC thing free?

Our store's JDC kit has not come yet. Sux the big one. I'd like to get in some league play. get the promos and get DCI standings going. Tournies have been going nice tho.

We had a sanctioned tournament today. There was about 14 players. I won the tournmanent, going 2-1, 1-0-1, 2-0, and 2-1. I got a Barkwhip, a Armored Groblav, a booster pack, and got to choose one of the hats (took Nature this time, already have Fire and Darkness).

The first deck I played was a rush Fire/Nature. He won the first one and then I won the next two. The second game, my opponent ran yellow, blocking me like none other. I just decked him out. The second round ended in a tie, so I won. The next guy ran Darkness/Water/Nature. I beat him soundly quickly. The last guy scared me. He ran Nature/Light using medium blockers and 4000 attack monsters, rendering my Vampire Silphies useless. He took the first round because I tried to deck him out. It didn't work. Then I realized he didn't have much removal, so I used my low level monsters to take his shields out while keeping his blockers and other creatures off the field. Needless to say, it was intense.

I run a Darkness/Water/Nature by the way. This is the second tournament I have won, first sanctioned one. Lots of fun opponents to play. Unfortunately, I didn't pull anything good from my booster.

Ya'll are making this sound like a ton of fun, i havent got to go to one yet though, x.x

Fun? It is a blast. I had never played DM in person until yesterday and now I can't wait until this Saturday. The JDC league here doesn't earn DCI points I don't think. He didn't get our DCI #. I think he is waiting for that. I also didn't see any hats. I hope I can trade for a set of Barkwhips, I got 2 extra Groblavs from trading.
