This is a... well, maybe not Aggro deck, but it's definitely an explosive one. The goal of the deck is to swarm my field with smaller monsters, such as Treeborn Frog, Mother Grizzly, and Sheep Cloud tokens, then flood the field with Big Wave Small Wave. The plan is to Special Summon Levia-Dragon and as many Abyssal Kingsharks as possible, play ALO and clear the field of everything except Levia and the Kingsharks, then wipe face for up to 7700 damage.
Crystal Seer helps make this possible by letting me speed through the deck by 2 cards, even if it only actually thins by 1. Mother Grizzly helps me get my Cloudians onto the field faster, and also thins the deck of cards I don't want to draw. Creature Swap helps me get bigger monsters to destroy them with so I can fill up my field sooner for Big Wave Small Wave. Solemn Judgment and Dark Bribe are a fail-safe in case my opponent tries to Torrential or Bottomless when I summon Levia-Dragon.
I would use Solemn Judgment, but even a single Solemn would bring me dangerously low to not being able to use My Body as a Shield.
Although, truth be told, I've never really liked My Body as a Shield anyways. I figured I'd see if this deck needed it, though, since it's heavily reliant on swarming the field with monsters, rather than its M/T (thus the Dark Bribes, which are to stop Lightning Vortex, Torrential, Mirror, etc.). We'll see what happens when I actually get the chance to test it.
Oh, and I'll be adding in an actual deck description in a second.
Not in this deck. Spiritual Water Art - Aoi is a control card, not aggro. This is an aggro deck, and thus wants to push for as much damage as possible. If I tribute off my monsters, I can't attack with them later, can I?
Feel free to check out my WATER Control deck, though, if you want to see Water Art in use. You can find a link in my Deck Portfolio.
I wouldn't call this aggro. It really looks like a combo deck to me, but it is pretty brilliant nonetheless, at least it's better than any other big wave small deck I've ever seen. I wish Water had a draw engine because this deck would be super deadly then.
I really just wanted to comment on this deck because it looks pretty awesome. Abyssal Kingshark is a great card (wish it wasn't secret) and I think you're using it to perfection.
I could see you using Creature Swap or Mystic box. I guess it kind of takes away from the Big Wave Small Wave aspect though. But, you are only playing 2 of them, so apparently it's not essential, honestly a Levia Dragon and a Abyssal Kingshark on the field will probably spell game pretty quickly anyway (2 turns, as long as you play Cold Wave, I love it's use in here). I also am having trouble not suggesting Mother Grizzly it doesn't search out much, but it still does maintain field presence and pulls 2 of your field swarmers.
9/10 I love it. This is probably one of the coolest decks I've seen in awhile. If I ever get 3 Abyssal Kingsharks and 3 Dark Bribes I am building this deck (the thing is the Dark Bribes cost more than the Kingsharks right now, hopefully no one sees how awesome kingshark is and they drop to around $10.00). I think you have something ultra competitive here, there are a ton of little tricks this deck can pull off.
Actually, Creature Swap is a VERY good idea. Sheep Cloud just says destroyed by battle and sent to the graveyard; this means you can Swap it, kill it with the creature you got from your opponent, and get the sheep tokens yourself.
Thanks for the suggestions you two. I actually did a bit of testing last night/very early this morning *yawn*, and made quite a few changes to the deck. Some of them match up with your suggestions.
First thing I changed was My Body as a Shield. I didn't like that card for a reason, so out it goes. Solemn Judgment went in it's place.
Also, I found that Cold Wave conflicted a bit with the current deck, because most of the time I either NEEDED to play Big Wave Small Wave or I NEEDED to play ALO in order to get Levia-Dragon onto the field, especially since the Sheep Cloud tokens can't be used for a Tribute Summon. I moved them to the side deck (which I'll post in a second), and maxed out on Big Wave Small Wave (which I felt I needed in 3's).
Next, I swapped the Hydros for Mother Grizzly's, since I often found myself needed Sheep Clouds when I didn't have any in hand. Plus, Grizzly suits my playing style a bit more, and will greatly help when a certain promo card is released.
Sangan and MoF were dropped. Sangan because I had next-to-nothing I wanted in my hand rather than searched by Grizzly, and MoF because there's nothing I direly need to reuse that's not in multiples. I also dropped them because I needed to make room for some cards that would add a bit more speed to the deck. In their place went 2 Crystal Seers, which have helped IMMENSELY.
That left one spot open, due to the siding of 2 Cold Waves and addition of only one Big Wave Small Wave. I dropped the Brain Control (which I didn't find too useful, due to ALO and Big Wave Small Wave being able to summon Levia-Dragon, not to mention the card I was going to add in did basically the same thing for me) and added in 2 Creature Swaps, another card you two suggested.
A last minute decision was to drop a Dark Bribe and COTH for Salvage (due to the higher number of targets now) and Swords of Revealing Life. I haven't tested enough to use Salvage more than once, and Swords never, though, so we'll see how that goes.
So the final tally comes to:
-3 Hydrogeddon
-1 Magician of Faith
-1 Sangan
-1 Brain Control
-2 Cold Wave (moved to side)
-2 My Body as a Shield
-1 Call of the Haunted
-1 Dark Bribe
+2 Crystal Seer
+3 Mother Grizzly
+1 Big Wave Small Wave
+2 Creature Swap
+1 Salvage
+1 Swords of Revealing Light
+2 Solemn Judgment
Also, here's the side deck I currently have:
2 - Cold Wave
2 - Cranium Fish
2 - Forced Back
2 - Lightning Vortex
2 - Mobius the Frost Monarch
2 - Needle Ceiling
3 - Royal Oppression
I could see you maxing out on Dark bribe and Solemn Judgment (wish you could make use of Bountiful Artemis). I'm sad about the Cold Wave not working out well. It looked too good in there and seems auto include with the shark. I thought it might be counter productive with Big Wave Small Wave, but I didn't think it would hurt ALO too much.
It looks like a control deck now though, that's waiting for it's pieces to explode. I still like it, I'm not sure which I like better though. I'm going to have to build a version that finds a happy medium between the 2, because I'm more of an attacker rather than a wait for my pieces guy.
I've found this build to be more consistent, thanks to the Seers and Grizzlies getting me the pieces that I need much sooner that in the previous build. I'll probably replace the Seers with that WATER promo coming out soon that lets you put any monster on top of the deck, but for now they're working just fine for me.
As for the focus of the deck, I'm more of a defensive player, so this setup suits me a lot better. :p If you were to make a more aggresive build than mine, the Cold Waves would probably suit you much better, since you'd probably play them right away. I save mine for only when I need them, such as when I'm ready to summon Levia-Dragon. Thus, the Cold Waves interfere with me.
Oh, waiting for Deep Diver? makes sense; with the Kingsharks unsearchable, this lets you get them to hand and thus the Dae combo is a whole lot workable.
They can also get me Daedalus and Warrior. I'm not sure if I'm going to drop the Seers, actually. I might drop a Cloudian - Sheep Cloud instead... The Seers have been very useful.
There is another monster coming out you will love it. It is a 7* fish discarde 1 card from your hand to summon as many as possible level 4 or lower fish type monsters from your deck they cant attack and have there effect negated.
Please R/F my deck or my ancient gear strategy on strategy and tactics.
